Boom’s Defensive Needs

My basic understanding is coach Boom’s base defense is SDE, NT, DT, overhang Edge/LB, Mike, $, NB in match quarters. I imagine this means the ILB’s need to be really good at covering the flats and deep middle in coverage. If true, does this explain why we need Smith and Biles over more traditional ILB’s like Barnes and Lefau? Would seem to make sense why they hit the portal. 
 

Also, do we expect more press man to compliment this? 
 

Would we be able to get professor Babers able to explain what to expect?
