Moderators Blake Munroe Posted 1 hour ago Moderators Posted 1 hour ago We’re 53 days away from Texas football. Today’s No. 53 group is led by Bill Acker, who put together a monster career on the defensive line. Acker was a team captain in 1979, was named First-Team All-SWC and finished with 29 career sacks (still tied for fourth in Texas history). He also helped Texas win the 1977 SWC title before playing six seasons in the NFL. Duane Miller was a steady offensive lineman in the late 1980s and early 90s. He was a four-year letterman, three-year starter and part of the 1990 team that won the Southwest Conference and finished 10-2 and No. 12 nationally. Jak Holbrook rounds it out as a multi-year deep snapper who played in 39 career games and stacked up academic honors, including Campbell Trophy semifinalist, CoSIDA Academic All-District and two-time First-Team Academic All-Big 12. And the current No. 53 is redshirt freshman defensive lineman Isaiah Coleman. 2 Quote
