Moderators Blake Munroe Posted 2 hours ago Moderators Posted 2 hours ago The countdown rolls on as we're officially 40 days away from Texas football. No. 40 has been worn by some outstanding Longhorn defenders over the years, headlined by Cory Redding, a first-team All-American, two-time first-team All-Big 12 selection and one of the most disruptive defensive linemen in school history. Joining Redding are Robert Killebrew, a member of Texas' 2005 national championship team who turned in one of the best single-game tackling performances in program history, and Naashon Hughes, a versatile defender who finished his career with 165 tackles, 26 tackles for loss and 14 sacks. Representing the current generation is Lance Jackson, the Longhorns' current No. 40. Jackson earned 2025 SEC All-Freshman Team honors after appearing in all 13 games as a true freshman and looks poised for a much bigger role this fall. Who's your favorite Longhorn to wear No. 40? 🤘 6 Quote
bourbasted Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Cory for me. Not too many lists Killebrew would come in 2nd for me, but Cory was one of the best I've ever seen on the 40. Quote
