Agree with all of you. 
Suffocating pigs in gas chambers and slitting throats of cows can be considered just as bad, if not worse, yet we pay for it to be done and no one bats an eye.

Punishment should fit the crime. Perhaps he could go play in the pool with sharks or get put into a cage with angry dogs. Maybe go to Alaska and camp in bear country with steak hanging off him?
