Moderators CJ Vogel Posted 2 hours ago Moderators Posted 2 hours ago I thought this was interesting, and important given some of the challenges facing the Texas offense. Florida loves to bring pressure. I charted 39 passing plays for South Carolina in their victory in The Swamp a week ago. 12 of those 39 snaps saw Florida bringing 6+ rushers at the snap. Now, keep in my, South Carolina is very RPO heavy. So some of those triggers were the result of keys that RPOs typically bait defenders into. But, the splits between number of blitzers brought on a given pass snap is interesting. 3 or less: 4 snaps 4-man pressure: 21 snaps 5-man pressure: 2 snaps 6-men or more: 12 snaps Texas has been pressured often up the middle with the G–C–G trio being targeted. That will be an area of the game I look for Florida to test from the start. One other note on 6-man pressure packages from the UF defense – 10 of the 12 were in the first half. South Carolina led 17–10 at halftime and after two possessions, it was 24–13. The deficit took away Florida's aggressiveness. Something to keep in mind for Saturday. Quote
Moderators CJ Vogel Posted 2 hours ago Author Moderators Posted 2 hours ago wanted to add this... the secondary does not communicate well in tight splits, even in man coverage. I bet Texas goes back to a couple WR inserts against UF. 1 Quote
