bonefish Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Starting a new thread because I think this combines a lot of the subjects we are all discussing or debatingš Explain to me how our ābrilliant play designer and play callerā canāt come up with an answer/counter to the 6 or 7 ghost front blitzes? Ā He saw Texas St. have some success with it in game 1 to stop the bleeding with the game already out of hand. I couldn't believe Ohio St didnāt run it more in game 2(a gift) and UTSA stifled us with it when they were already down by a few scores and nothing to lose. Followed by Tenn and their 5 sacks and numerous TFLs that almost allowed them to come back. We then had a bye week to fix it only to have both OU and FL beat us with it! This has now lead us to have a QB, OL and our entire Offense to have no confidence! An unconfident offense is depicted by numerous 3 and outs and turnovers! (Iām guessing everybody on this board believed we were going to have a 3 and out after FLās 8 minute drive?) If Iām a DC, you typically worry that Sark would have an answer at some point and are scared to do it too much thinking they will eventually get burned by it. Sark has shown no obvious counters. Where are the audibles, fake audibles, checks to the WRs for hot routes, etc? Nothing but the same plays he continues to run. However, every game Defenses run it more and more to the point where everyone will now start the game with it and make Sark and our O prove they have a solution. Therefore, in my opinion, this rests 100% on Sark. Arch thrived in this unrelenting pressure position last year and this year they are collapsing the pocket so fast that he canāt find a hole to escape or he is watching for defenders instead of looking for receivers who are wide-open or have their backs to him. Arch is fried mentally because Sarkās stubbornness to see and change their approach when defenses line up in these ghost fronts. The OL, particularly the C, is either getting immediately getting pushed back into Arch or are reaching for defenders they canāt get to. This is not the first time defenses have run these fronts against teams. Typically, they run these looks when they need a TFL and hope they donāt get burned by it. They are supposed to be a gambling defensive call. Now they are running it all the time and especially on 3rd and short. Texas and Sark are seeing it more and more because defenses are having more and more success against us doing it. It has now snowballed to the point where we have a very unconfident and frustrated entire offense. This is a Sark creation and problem! Our QB wasnāt this bad last year, our OL is befuddled even though I really believe we are more talented and we know we have better weapons than ever. It doesnāt matter when you allowed a problem to become what is half way through a season which is destroying the team!Ā Ā Just my opinionš Quote
