Derek,

You have got to stop this!  You need to keep these thoughts to yourself.

Now you've gone and done it!  You have just sent Zura over the edge!  Calling out 20 additional opportunities  for loses to the school that must not be named will be his end.  Not nice!

This counts walkons as well i bet.  105 is a total roster size so are probably going to have to cut walk-ons.  For example, roster size went down by 6 in baseball.

That’s my understanding the total roster is 105. It was 120 or 125 with walkons

What scholarship player is going to want to be 8th on the depth chart? Top guys already want to be one of only a couple of guys at a position in any recruiting class. We'll potentially see a doubling of the recruiting class size. Managing this is going to take some very astute reasoning and patience. I don't think it's the cure to anything in college football.

Now the NIL budget is going to get watered down by another 20 "scholarship" players.

I guess Oregon will probably figure it out first. They sure seem to have everything else dialed in right now.

Did they change the FCS rosters as well?

Also, the Sevice Academies are technically all walkons, correct?

What was the reason for doing this?  Was it a push from the SEC and B1G?

This should mean more Title XX scholarships for women, as well - right?

Next recruiting cycle will be a free for all.  I cannot image all schools will instantly jump to 105.  That would entail taking quite a bit of sub level talent or project players.

Think about it:  It would mean basically 800 additional players just to fill the SEC & Big10 rosters alone!!!!! 😳😳😳

That would be on top of the annual current recruiting numbers of 1000 players in an average year's recruiting class for the two conferences.  Now add in the ACC and the Big12.

Not enough high level talent to feed that appetite in one year.  OOOOFFFFF!!!!!

Good points.   I think we're about to see a lot of smaller schools drop football.  I know most don't care, but this would seem to really change the CFB landscape.

It should but colleges will just kill men's sports like they did in the 90's.  Baseball is going to be a big target I bet now that is has so many ships available.
