UT Admissions

Recommended Posts

I don't know if this play still works, but when I was in school, transferring in after 1-2 semesters at ACC was a great option. Make your grades and you'll get in.

I had a dozen friends that did this successfully (and none that failed) in the late aughts.

You are seeing more and more UT graduates having to send their money to OSU, Arkansas, Ole Miss, etc. every year because their children can’t get in.

It sucks to see, but I guess they have to draw the line somewhere. Those who truly want to be at Texas will do the CAP program or go to Austin community college for a couple semesters if they can’t get in out of high school.

When I was teaching at A&M, I had students every year tell me they tried to get into Texas but couldn't. So they went there for a year and would transfer.
