Former top 40 recruit now  So. Alabama DT Jahiem Oatis is planning on redshirting and entering the transfer portal. This could be a big get in the offseason for the Longhorns if the piece fits. Would need guaranteed playtime which is the reason for the move by the player.

“Big get” and “leaving for more guaranteed playing time” aren’t usually said together.

There is a reason he isn’t playing on a Bama defense that isn’t really that good.

Has had injjury issues

He’s a quitter- don’t want.   Averaging 16 snaps a game this year and probably an injury away from 30+ and it’s a long season.   I hope he makes less money next year than he did at Bama

Exactly - also Bama's defense has looked atrocious, why would we want to add a backup from that?
