Sarkisian says 7 of the 10 penalties committed on Saturday were "Really impactful."

Four penalties on offense negated four explosive runs.

Two defensive penalties resulted in 14 points thanks to extending drives.

Steve Sarkisian: "I thought Quinn (Ewers) had a tremendous game."

Adding, to bounce back after the INT to throw for 17 straight completions, 200+ yards and 3 TD was an awesome sign for the offense.

Sarkisian says he is not yet planning for 105 scholarship roster right now. Says until he is told otherwise, that is the plan.

Sarkisian says he does not want to offer spots and promises that potentially might not get fulfilled due to the house bill.

On Jelani McDonald:

When Texas finally found a home for him this spring, you could really see the development at the position. Said the staff had him at cornerback, linebacker and then safety and he has really impressed and developed well.

The team did meetings only on Monday. The team did workout with Torre Becton this morning.

Practice Wednesday and Thursday. No practice Friday, but a workout in the morning. And obviously nothing on Saturday and Sunday during the weekend.

I asked Sarkisian about finding a balance in finding a vertical passing attack in the offense, wondering if it was reads or progressions on the QB side or if there is more to it:

"Tell (the DBs) to move up."

That was it.

"Tell (the DBs) to move up, and we will throw over them. They played man-to-man on one snap that wasn't in the red area, we threw a touchdown pass. Tell them to move up."

Thanks CJ… that’s a quote for all the haters, can’t through deep ball with two deep …

Not really. You can attack vertically without going over the top.  Something we were doing very well pre-Ewers injury.

Maybe they can tell us when they are going to blitz also.
