ArizonaLonghorn
He spent two years in junior college but is now claiming those years should not count against his college eligibility. No doubt he figures two more years of NIL would be better than getting a job. Crazy. An unexpected side effect of NIL. Any lawyers out there (Mark in Austin?), what do you think his chances of winning are? "Pavia argues in the lawsuit that counting junior college seasons toward years of NCAA eligibility "unjustifiably restrains" the ability for college athletes like himself to earn money through their name, image and likeness for the full four seasons."
Texas fan in Georgia
I don’t think he’s gonna get the outcome he desires. But he knows he’s not gonna be in the NFL so he’s gotta get paid somehow
HenryJames
College football needs fewer 24 year old quarterbacks.

Orngblud05
Well Diego, if you were concerned about that you should not have gone to said junior college.
GoHorns1
Bull sh*t. But don’t be surprised if NCAA gives him one more year.
Nathan Ross
I will be closely monitoring this case. Although I’m now 52, I didn’t have the opportunity to receive NIL as a college athlete so if he wins I’m filing suit and plan to return to the diamond in 2026. With that said I’m now entertaining NIL offers in preparation for my return
bierce
I say bring Durant back for his three remaining years. Why should his time playing in the NBA matter? 2

BobInHouston
I heard his lawyer talk about this over the weekend. I was not especially impressed. A major point was that redshirt rules are quirky. If you get hurt after the fourth game (football), you've lost the year. However, now players can play in four games, plus the entire postseason, which now could be four more games. Additionally, JC shouldn't count because NIL isn't available at that level. What's missing is that you have to come in as a marketable player in order to be paid immediately. A high-D-I backup QB might get paid in Year one, but I think he's looking at what he is now and what he missed out on before and thinking he deserved it all along. That's wishful thinking.
