Ron Ajatrom
Was just going over a few hypotheticals and there is a chance that after week 14 the SEC could have 6 teams standing at 10-2 if; Alabama (wins out) Georgia (wins out) Texas (loses to Texas A&M) Ole Miss (wins out) LSU (wins out) Tennessee (loses to Georgia then wins out) How would this workout for us in terms of the SEC title game and the playoffs. I believe if we lose to A&M we don't make the SEC championship game, but regardless, in this scenario the team that plays A&M in the sec title game will be 10-2 when entering the game. If that team comes out as 10-3 would this loss eliminate them from playoff contention? Was talking to a friend about this hypothetical and they had my brain churning when claiming that if this is the actual record for the SEC teams come week 14, Texas would probably miss out on the playoffs due to strength of schedule and quality wins. Ron Ajatrom
Thanks for the site. So with this standing I honestly don’t see 5 sec teams making the playoffs if Boise state and notre dame win out.

Thorn007
scary if we win vs arkie and kentucky but lose to aggie. still 7 sec teams in the running for playoffs . 6 if you leave out missouri. we could be left out the playoff. say it aint so yo
Ron Ajatrom
Yea this could very well be the case. But then again the playoff committee may not leave a team (brand face value) like Texas out of the playoffs in terms of viewership and strength of roster regardless of those big losses, but why leave it up to chance. Texas just has to deliver these next 3 weeks on all phases especially at Kyle field.
4thandFive
Texas better win out.
dfwHorn
Long story short, to make SEC Championship game: Must win out to make CFP: win out: guaranteed 1 loss: 50/50 shot, unless it’s the SECCG 2 losses: Out.
ArizonaLonghorn
One hypothetical worst case chaos scenario floating around has Texas losing to Arky or Kentucky, then beating A&M plus Georgia beating Tennessee. That could set up eight SEC teams tied for first with 6-2 conference records - go figure out how that one plays out.
