Moderators Blake Munroe Posted December 29, 2024 Moderators Posted December 29, 2024 I sat down with @CJ Vogel to give y'all some insight into the baseball team, as we're only 1.5 months away from opening day. From position battles to watch, who to expect on the mound and even a little recruiting info, we discuss it all. Then @Gerry Hamilton and I talk both men and women's hoops, as the Longhorns gear up for their conference schedule. We also drop a note on Aaliyah Chavez and where things currently stand with the nation's No. 1 player. 7 Quote
Glass Joe Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 Great stuff, guys. Blake / CJ, - you guys mentioned Harrison and the kid from Indiana State as two of our possible starting pitchers. Who else would you project into the other two starting spots (Sunday, Tuesday starters)? Maybe the kid from Ole Miss? What about the incoming frosh arms? Thanks again for providing this content to us starved college baseball fans! 1 Quote

Thanks again for providing this content to us starved college baseball fans! Tough to say at this point. These are the guys I'd really look to contribute early: Jared Spencer (LHP - Indiana State) Luke Harrison (LHP) Ruger Riojas (RHP - UTSA) Connor McCreery (RHP - South Carolina) Andre Duplantier (RHP) Like I mentioned in the video, I know they're trying to figure out whether to burn Riojas once a week as a starter or use him throughout the week. That will be key, imo. Of course you also look at guys like Ace Whitehead and Max Grubbs. Both started at times last year for Texas, but how do they rebound back from their injuries? Thomas Burns (RHP - Arizona State) started on Friday nights for the Sun Devils... but does he start early on for Texas? I'm not 100% sure on that. Grayson Saunier (RHP - Ole Miss) will likely be coming out of the bullpen. And then you have a guy like Aiden Moffitt (RHP - LSU) who has all the talent in the world, but control was an issue in the past. As far as the freshmen go, Drew Rerick is the guy I'd keep an eye on imo. So to answer your question.... I don't quite know yet. 2 Quote
Moderators CJ Vogel Posted December 29, 2024 Moderators Posted December 29, 2024 Really excited for this baseball team. The bats should be fun. I have my eyes on the pieces in the bullpen over the next month or two. 2 Quote

Others that are likely to be a big part of the staff are Freshmen Volantis and Flores, and Mercer coming back from TJ surgery in Fall 2023. Quote
