drag worm
Ideally this team needs a few more veterans around Arch in his first year as QB1. Never seen a team with only two seniors on the entire offensive roster. Given that Quinn had X, AD, Golden and Bond (when healthy) around him I’d expect that Sark must have his sites on a seasoned veteran WR1 for the Arch era. RB1 would also be a nice add as even if Baxter comes back a 16 game season is a heavy burden for any back and this roster seems to lack a true speed / power combo like we saw from Georgia and Ohio State in our only losses this year. Beyond that, DJ staying might have helped us on the interior of the OL but another upper class man add at C or guard wouldn’t hurt there. And then on the other side of the ball DT continues to be a priority need IMO. When the portal first opened Bobby and Gerry mentioned that Texas could use as many as four DT adds with one or two being “elite.” The two we have seem like seasoned depth but neither has produced at the level that I would call elite. Much like WR it feels like you get one more SEC caliber dude in this room and the rest of them all fall into place much better. It’ll be interesting to see what moves if any we make in the Spring Portal window. It’s probably a two game win/loss swing if we can get some more veterans into these key positions around Arch. Hook’em! Edited 9 hours ago by drag worm
Hank Kingsley
I doubt we go after a RB1, but think we need to add someone to the room. Can see us taking 1 WR and 1 TE. 1-2 DTs, maybe a veteran CB similar to Gavin Holmes? And a PK?

MBHORNSFAN
Not worried at all. Sark has proven he knows what he needs to do. It has been a very long time since I trusted a coach at Texas. Sark has mine. With that said I am sure there will be a ton of pants pissing.

Off the field, Sark is currently the best HC in college football IMO.

Agree he’s shown to be very aware and capable of handling the needs. This post is about speculating where those adds will be.

DT is obvious but I suspect Sark and the coaches will have a much better idea after spring ball...

I trust this staff to pick the best options to round out the roster, but it could be that the options presented only allow you to hit a double when you need a homerun. I am at least comforted that we won’t foul tip strike two into our crotch and then whiff on strike three in the portal like FSU.

You are assuming we won't recruit a player we want into the portal.

I’m not taking it for granted that we’ll be able to. Im a bit leery about the spring window because that is usually guys who waited to see how spring ball would shake out to jump, or decide if they like a new staff. That may or may not be the real dudes needed at DT and WR.

This will be their 4th season in the program. Most won’t have a lot of game experience but they have been around the program multiple years.

AusMOJO
Another upperclassman inside? Hutson and Umeozulu are both going to be Sr's, no? So you'll have 3 Sr's on the interior, a Soph and RS Soph at the T's?
