EHoff99 Posted March 31 Posted March 31 I graduated from Waller back in 2017, and people around here have been talking about how they have a really good Freshman QB now so I was interested. He was first team all district and newcomer of the year as a Freshman in a somewhat decent district with a lot of Cypress schools. He already holds offers from UTSA, TCU, Baylor, SMU, and now Houston. I know class of 2028 guys are very far away but I was wondering from people who know the industry and maybe know upcoming guys @CJ Vogel @Gerry Hamilton if there has been any type of chatter at all about him and if he actually seems like a legit QB at the next level? I'd assume he's mostly unknown up to this point but know he's also a solid baseball prospect. Would just be cool to have a very solid prospect out of Waller. Cody Johnson back in 2007 is the only one we've ever really had. Quote
Moderators CJ Vogel Posted March 31 Moderators Posted March 31 I saw he picked up the Houston offer on Sunday, pretty good start to his recruitment for how young he is. Will be interesting to see what he does with the baseball path, looks to be a pretty solid prospect on the diamond. I haven’t heard anything in regards to Texas, but QB recruiting at Texas is always a very interesting journey on a given cycle. 2 Quote

Yeah knowing how rare it is for Sark to give out QB offers, that's one that would be really telling if it actually does happen. Even just seeing a school like A&M or him getting his first couple out of state offers will be interesting to look out for. Quote
Horns88 Posted Thursday at 09:31 PM Posted Thursday at 09:31 PM This young talent is truly making waves in the sports world. Securing offers from Texas Tech and an SEC powerhouse like Vanderbilt is no small feat. It seems like his rising prowess isn't going unnoticed, with Major League Baseball scouts already keeping a close eye on him, projecting him for significant success straight out of high school. As his senior year approaches, he'll have some crucial decisions ahead, potentially influencing the trajectory of his athletic career. Whether he chooses to hone his skills in college ball or leap directly into the big leagues, this kid is destined for remarkable achievements. The excitement around his future is palpable, and many will be watching to see where his journey takes him next. Horns need to get on this kid early. Quote
Horns88 Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago The young freshman continues to pick up offers, with the Big 12 showing significant interest. I spoke with him today, and it's clear that many top programs are starting to pay attention. LSU, Norte Dame, Michigan, FSU, and the Aggies are lining up to make their offers soon, as they've already reached out and invited him to to campus. What are we waiting for? The Horns need to make a move sooner rather than later if we want to stay in the race. "Gaines expressed to me that Waller football hasn't been on the map in a long time. He's made a personal commitment to put the town back in the spotlight. He's determined to lift everyone around him, saying he'll do whatever it takes to improve his team. With coaches from different schools coming out to watch him practice, it motivates his teammates. "If my success drives them to get better and they see the work I put in, it makes us all better," Gaines said. He's a firm believer in the power of early work and extra reps, and his dedication is contagious." Quote
