Sean Miller with a huge portal addition

Sean Miller looks like he is trying to construct a roster that is in line with what he did at Zona. Length, length and more length.

Sorry to bring this up, but what is the difference we're seeing so far between Coach Terry in the portal vs Coach Miller in the portal? Is it just the calibre of player? Bigger, more athletic players? I know a lot of people were unhappy with Coach Terry's portal acquisitions, so I'm just wondering how Coach Miller stacks up with that.

More size, arm length and skilled size so far ... but two more spots to fill too. 

1. A big F/W with skill and a building perimeter game that will be a 1st or 2nd round pick when he leaves Texas.

Dailyn Swain, F, 6-8, junior (11.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.6 steals)

2. A true 7-foot center that will be a two year player, and NBA prospect after second year at Texas.

Matas Vokietaitis, C, 7-0, sophomore (10.2 points, 5.4 rebounds) 

3. An athletic W/F that shoots it at 39-40% from three. Two years left to play.

He's a true freshman, so there is plenty of room for improvement, but he's not a plus shot blocker, a guy with big offensive range, or a guy you can expect to beat a guy of similar size and strength on the block.  He is someone who seems to understand the game very well for his age, and he is terrific at positioning.  Check out his transfer portal highlight vid, and you will see what I mean.  There is nothing there that wows you with his athleticism, but it is a terrific exposition of understanding how to get into position to score. 

Give this guy 3 years of S&C training, and he could be awesome, but don't give up on him if he appears to be something less than what you hoped in his first year here.

I think I’ll lean towards excited since it came down to Texas vs Kentucky. He looks like a legit 7 footer, very solid feet vs a plodder, and not afraid to fight/back people down on the block. 

Pope/Miller or Bierce’s highlight evaluation…😉🙂

Is he Lew? Nah. Could he be a plus player for a college team, TBD.

I don't see how anything I said can be interpreted into a suggestion that I think Vokeitaitis is some kind of recruiting miss.  My intro was "I'm happy for this pick up," and my conclusion was "could be awesome, but don't give up on him if he appears to be something less than what you hoped in his first year here."

I just don't think anyone should expect a 30 mpg, 20 ppg, and 10 rbg guy in year one in the SEC, but if we add Traore, then they will split the time, and that will work well for us.  We will definitely have upgraded in the middle with those additions.
