I think he was told he’d be this year’s Amarius Mims. Not only is Cam not that kind of athlete, missing the combine and pro day with a knee injury did him no favors. 3 Quote

He can pass from the pocket...delivery is a little low, but that aside, when the play breaks down, he tripps over tacklers on the ground, not great at passing on the run, and his running ability is that he doesn't have any running ability. Love the guy...but I'm not sure he even gets drafted, which is a big time bummer. OTOH, the guy I wanted out of HS, Klubnik, will likely be a first round pick next year He can: 1) pass from the pocket 2) escape from the pocket 3) throw on the run when he escapes from the pocket 4) if the DBs respect that pass on the run TOO MUCH, then he can run...and HE FAST Not real sure where Quinn goes from here if he's not even drafted. I hate even thinking about it Then with Gruden he says he IS NOT GOING TO CHANGE his footwork. 2 Quote

tmataya Posted April 26 Posted April 26 At this point Quinn should hope to go UDFA to pick his spot. 2 Quote

TexasLonghorns Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Experts are telling you in real time about Quinn Ewers’ abilities, and skills, unfortunately Sark either didn’t see his shortcomings or chose to ignore. Arch a likely top 5 or top 10 draft pick — spent the year on the bench behind a player who hasn’t been picked halfway through the 6th round. If Arch Manning had been the starting quarterback from the beginning of the season, Texas would have won the national championship. That’s a major failure on Sarkisian’s part as a coach. 3 2 Quote
cdibbs Posted April 26 Posted April 26 What are we not seeing that's causing someone to not at least take a chance on Quinn? He's still a young QB and the arm talent is far superior to some of the QBs already drafted. 2 Quote
Derek Handler Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Is this a bad look on qb development at Texas? Quinn was a 1.000 recruit. I’m not saying it is but if I was an opposing coach id be using this an an example. Throw in Maalik’s throwing mechanics as well. Surprised Cam downfall as well. 1 Quote

Get over yourself. Quinn had a stellar career for us. Being a hindsight fortune teller is the easiest thing in the world to do. 7 Quote
