    I really hope so. Top two guys at LB have been great, but we’re living dangerously with them playing every snap. Who’s the #3 guy there? Would rather find out with a big lead and not if someone gets hurt.

    I believe if we win out we’re in, so here’s what I think helps us if we lose another game. It’s still early to know exactly who to root for, but in general: 1. Upsets. Unranked or barely ranked teams beating top 10 teams is generally good 2. Hope Florida takes two more losses but doesn’t totally go in the tank. Want to avoid finishing with the same record as them because of the head to head, but don’t let them lose enough for it to become a “bad loss” like last year. 3. Speaking of going in the tank, Oklahoma losing out would be bad for the same reason. I’m never going to root for OU so I’ll leave it at that. 4. As others have said, root against ND. Hope Miami wins big and ideally they take another loss. 5. Ohio State winning helps the resume but could be tough without Sayin. If they lose, hope they lose at least twice. If we’re both 9-3 we have head to head. 6. I’m inclined to root for LSU over Alabama. If we lose to LSU we should come out ahead of bama in a resume competition I’m not even going into the Big 12 because…blech

    Predictions on this thread range from an 18 point Texas win to a 4 touchdown loss with Sark fired and the whole team portaling out. Wild times.

    I’m optimistic that because it’s desperation time, we’ll see an uptick in snaps from Bishop/Cooper. And that the law of averages comes into play and the defense finally causes some turnovers.

    Agree, major crossroad game. Find a way to win this one and figure something out on offense, and the rest of the schedule looks a lot more manageable. Lose and your season goals are out the window and the players know it.

    Or guessing scores on a board for fun is very different from putting actual money on a group of very unpredictable and inconsistent mostly teenagers.

    Ole Miss 30-24, but this season every game is just a total guess. Tough time for Simmons to be out. We seem to be able to get to 24 no matter what

    Going 5-1 would be a feat, and it still may not be enough to get in the playoff, especially with the possibility of 3 big 12 teams getting in. 7-5 would mean losing to Ole Miss, LSU, and Missouri, which is very plausible. I lean 7-5 is more likely.

    Gerry any word on other positions? I won’t name any specially but hopefully they’ll guard against one center of attention.

    I you guys are probably right with these scenarios and I hate it. If you’re going to give KJ a shot, don’t throw him in a quagmire. Get him in for a scripted series early, even if not starting. Commit to it and communicate it internally in advance so you don’t further rattle the team.

    Might not have to fake anything with Will Echoles coming up. I’m not wishing arch injury, but this is about to be a serious problem.
