Geez, why have any rules.

Maybe the players could sue the NCAA over the 85 scholarship player limit and just let the players show up on the campus of their choice and then sue the school if they don’t put them on scholarship. Just kidding, sorta.

The NFL has rules. The owners and coaches have to be able to assemble a team without the chaos of players changing teams anytime they want.

NFL coaches get fired and position coaches change teams every year but players don’t get to cry about it and leave.
