I think my definition of rattled is different than yours. And I disagree that Arch wasn't seeing the field. I think Arch got overly cautious because of the early turnovers. Especially through the first half, I think he knew that one more turnover would likely effectively end the game, and he was content to live for another play. I think we can all agree that he was TOO cautious and should have made a lot of those throws. But I don't consider that rattled. In the second half, and particularly the 4th quarter, I think he saw the same things he had been seeing, but had no choice but to let it rip. Overall, I would grade him out somewhere between 7 and 8. Biggest trap game for me is probably Missouri, but most likely L is probably LSU. Biggest concern is turnovers.

I understand the frustration with the sideways passes (and I might have yelled my share of curses at the sky), but two points. First, some were called to set up future plays (see posts above about the Mosley play). And second, not all of those were necessarily called. Several times Arch checked down to the running back/TE out in the flat. And my recollection from being at the game is that the play where the booing was the loudest was an Arch check down and not a designed pass to the flats. That is partly why I think, regardless of fans intent, players are likely to interpret the boos as directed at them.

1. I was down on the rail on the East side and I did not see anyone rushing the field. I think most of the people on the field were from the south endzone club who have direct access to the field. I am not sure if they are truly allowed to go out past the end zone after the game, but it was not a "rush the field". 2. UT fans were definitely booing, and maybe it was "directed" at Sark, but I guarantee that is not how it was taken. The players will think it is directed at them (and they did hear it). 3. I always have and always will thinking booing your own team is stupid. Whether that is college or professional sports. I understand the frustration and the temptation to boo, but it says more about the maturity of us fans than it does anything else. It is not like the players or coaches are not trying to do their best and booing is going to somehow remind them to play or coach harder. They are trying way harder than we are as fans. They are just humans and sometimes fail. 4. Save the booing for the refs. They may also be trying their best, but booing may actually subconsciously lead them to benefitting your team on the next close call.

I understand the question (and even asked that night at the game whether they would). And Day said in his postgame that they talked about it. But given our history and the fact that one of the plays was actually ruled a fumble, I actually think they made the right call.

It is complicated, but they have to get their tickets in advance through essentially a lottery process, but once they get their ticket, seating is basically general admission.

I appreciate WMU taking the high road. And it doesn't really make a bit of difference to me. But I really feel for the WMU players. They deserved to win, and watching it live, I have no doubt they did. The Big 10 explanation makes no sense and does not convince me otherwise.

No, there were not 10 seconds on the official clock. Or at least there should not have been. The on-field official literally reset the game clock to 9 seconds right before the play.

I don't see how they could be out of sync when they literally reset the clock to nine seconds before the play. For those that were not watching, Michigan threw a long pass over the middle with no timeouts. They ran up to the line and spiked the ball. The clock ran down to 8 seconds and the official said please reset the game clock to nine seconds. Which the clock that was shown on the broadcast and in the stadium did. So, how did they get out of sync?

The Big 10 argument makes zero sense. There is nothing to suggest the clock on the broadcast started early. Are they saying the broadcast clock ran faster than the official clock? Because nine seconds is nine seconds. And they had literally just "reset the game clock" to nine seconds. So, it isn't like there were really 9.9 seconds on the official clock, but only 9 seconds on the broadcast clock. I watched it in real time and I would find it incredibly hard to believe that the play took less than nine seconds. But I also agree with the comment that WMU got too cute with their defense. It makes zero sense to "blitz" a fourth rusher there.

This! Forget all the speculation. I know it is natural to be curious, but these situations don't always have easy or obvious answers. And they are not always somebody's "fault." At the end of the day, "why" doesn't matter. Wish the best for the young man and hope he gets it figured out for his own sake. And let's talk about where the Horns go from here.

For the record, the team ended up splitting the games with the Dutch. They lost 8-7 on Monday (after giving up 4 runs in the bottom of the 7th) and won 7-5 yesterday. If you are interested, you can watch the games

I don't disagree that Foreman may have had better numbers than Priest, but it is not accurate to say that Priest's team had virtually nothing but him. Shon Mitchell was actually the much more heralded recruit on the team and probably got more starts/snaps (much to my wife's chagrin). And let's not forget a RB by the name of Ricky Williams who was there for Priest's senior year. That was one of the most stacked RB rooms in UT history.

Apparently, Paxton's price tag/corruption was higher than thought. The Texas Tribune reported today that Paxton received $275K from Campbell the day before he intervened.

Like any good attorney, Kessler is going to take every penny that he can from the money for which Sorsby settled with Tech.
