  1. Jeff, trying to understand this. What type of players is this going to impact if it’s not going to be players of consequence? And really what I’m wondering is, what was the point? What problem were they trying to solve by creating the new window?
  2. Wasn’t this someone you previously said the staff was expecting a big jump from in year 2 along with Rerick. Understand things change
  3. Is it safe to assume that any players entering the portal now (or in the last week or so) are players that the staff was hoping to keep? Seems like if the staff wanted them to leave, they would have been encouraged to enter sooner. Chamberlain - Reported the staff preferred to keep him. Moffett - Sounds like he got a Draft assurance or two. Winfield - Makes sense to me that he would want more playing time but timing seems weird.
  4. Do you think any of the pitchers project towards a starter role or all they all bullpen arms?
  5. Some really good players still entering the portal late. Guys like this and DiMartini entering after LSU wraps up their season makes me a bit nervous. I guess we are in the market for at least a back up catcher now but seems like we could potentially improve on our two INF takes so far.
  6. Stop chasing your tail Gerry!!
  7. Believe we're at 5. Cleveland Brown Carlton Okpala Not too sure on the 5th. Possibly Krempin.
  8. Nakos is reporting that us and Tennessee are battling it out for Hacopian now? Lol
  9. Not sure why lol. It’s been reported Bishop is a CB first recruit. Lott is probably trending well, but it’s not over. Finley has been trending ND but we will see next weekend. Stewart is OVing to Tennessee currently. Brown is in the fold but he’s a slot type. Those are the only WRs that have/had visits set up. We will be fine at WR, and I’m not “worried”, but it doesn’t seem good enough to not even take a swing at Jabari Mack when he has an OV on the books. I think it makes sense that the staff was worried about him not having legitimate interest and the juice maybe not being worth the squeeze to bring him in.
  10. Would we cancel because we’re worried the family would come on campus and be advocating for LSU?
  11. My bet is we will be getting some good news by the end of this week.
  12. It’s about more than just money. You can’t say oh he would make $1M if he goes but only $500k at Texas, so he’s gone. The minor league baseball life is hard. Look at some of the towns those triple-A, double-A, High-A teams are in and who they play against. Not many fans in the crowd, nothing to do in your free time, and if you are good you likely are bouncing around being called up/down based on what the organization needs. Blake said previously there’s about a 20% chance Kayson makes it so it’s not very likely, but it’s not a 1-to-1 money decision.
  13. Not going to pretend to understand softball recruiting, but On3 has rankings and Wells is actually only our 6th highest rated commit, she’s #54 overall. We have 3 commits in the top 30. The 2026 class is looking even better where we have #2 and #4 committed.
  14. Interesting to me how baseball recruiting seems to move underground almost. Names are rarely reported, seems like a ton of kids commit the moment they step on campus for their first visit, just not a lot of information to go around. I always wonder how the coaching staffs have achieved this level of secrecy in baseball but not other sports.
  15. Got a boo boo on his knee? Scooter accident perhaps?
  16. Do you think this is one that the staff would have liked to keep? Was a highly rated recruit. That’s about all I know about him. Lol
  17. Does this seem like a lot to you? Or even less than normal? I feel like in the past we haven’t thrown out many early offers but seems like we are seeing more and more now.
