    It’s about more than just money. You can’t say oh he would make $1M if he goes but only $500k at Texas, so he’s gone. The minor league baseball life is hard. Look at some of the towns those triple-A, double-A, High-A teams are in and who they play against. Not many fans in the crowd, nothing to do in your free time, and if you are good you likely are bouncing around being called up/down based on what the organization needs. Blake said previously there’s about a 20% chance Kayson makes it so it’s not very likely, but it’s not a 1-to-1 money decision.

    Not going to pretend to understand softball recruiting, but On3 has rankings and Wells is actually only our 6th highest rated commit, she’s #54 overall. We have 3 commits in the top 30. The 2026 class is looking even better where we have #2 and #4 committed.

    Interesting to me how baseball recruiting seems to move underground almost. Names are rarely reported, seems like a ton of kids commit the moment they step on campus for their first visit, just not a lot of information to go around. I always wonder how the coaching staffs have achieved this level of secrecy in baseball but not other sports.

    Does this seem like a lot to you? Or even less than normal? I feel like in the past we haven’t thrown out many early offers but seems like we are seeing more and more now.

    SMU has a good class so far. Prioritizing the in state kids that are probably at least a tier below our top targets and will better serve as backup plans if we don’t hit some of the national recruitments we’re in. Good for them. We’ll see how it plays out with kids like Miles and Dotie if we don’t land our top guys.

    Two all conference UIW WRs just hit the portal. One a return specialist, the other a slot with elite production.

    Jeff, do you know if Sam Richardson is healthy or not? Just by looking at PG ratings, it looks like he was our highest rated commit that made it to campus. We’ve seen a good chunk of the freshmen class play this year, but not him. With ARod out right now it seems like it would be a good time. Any idea?

    I have a feeling if our former coach was given the funds to go get JT Toppin we wouldn’t have had to suffer through the Jayson Kent experience.

    Texas being in the top 15-20 in basketball NIL is pretty good and about what I would expect personally. This is a football school first and always will be. We also happen to have the best baseball program of all time, so it’s hard to make an argument basketball should be top 5 in the country or anything. There are ~350 college basketball programs. Top 15-20 should allow us to be competitive in the SEC.

    Majority of the fan base is unrealistic about basketball right now. Feel bad for the next coach if he doesn’t also get a bigger NIL commitment than we have ever had previously.

    I wonder if you guys might have your video auto-play turned off? This can be changed in your Twitter settings. I'm not positive this will stop it from going to the beginning, but if the video is auto-playing before you even click on it, it might pick up live instead of starting the video from the top. My auto-play is turned on and the videos don't go to the beginning for me.

    I’m also curious. Tried to do it on my own about a month or so ago and couldn’t figure it out. I submitted a contact form to ask, but never heard back.
