    I will disagree with you there. I have met him in person and had business dealings with him. I found him to be straightforward, honest, and very sharp. He is loyal to the school he played for and wants to see college athletics prosper. The two are not mutually exclusive. This is a huge issue and will not be easily solved. I was a walk on track athlete at UT and would hate to see sports like track and field suffer because of funding. Thanks for the insightful article Bobby. It sparks ideas and discussion.

    I have family that are grads so I’ve always been a Longhorn and was blessed to go to school there. My mom remarried and I went to middle school and high school in Oklahoma but always repped my Horns and got back to Texas as soon as I could. I also have 2 daughters who are Texas Exes so the tradition continues. Hook Em!!!

    Eric Metcalf was a freak. As well as being an all around weapon on the football field, he was a 2 time NCAA long jump champion. I wish he would have been in an offense that could have better utilized his skills. He was a talent that was ahead of his time.

    Waldemar has been using their kitchens to provide food for workers and searchers. Brought in generators and have been going around the clock, doing what they can.
