  1. Wenaas off the block. 6-2. She's killing it so far tonight. Swindle in to serve. a&m middle hit goes wide. 7-2.
  2. Can see Wenaas's finger go back. 5-2.
  3. Jenaas with a dink after a long rally. 4-1. Wenaas with her third kill after agroid setter slipped. A&M then hit long but challenge about touch at net. 6-1 Texas with challenge pending.
  4. A&M way long. 3-0. Middle kill A&M. 3-1.
  5. First point had a great dig by Halter, set by Carlson, kill by Wenaas. Second point was a blown service return. 2-0 Texas.
  6. Agroids beat Baylor 3-1 in an early match in Waco and recently lost 0-3 to Wisconsin in Madison. No other matches against ranked teams.
  7. Remarkably old style Big Ten running play failing to convert a first down near midfield on 3rd and 4 and less than 2 minutes left in the half.
  8. JMU 60 UNC 24 with 9:16 left in 3rd q
  9. Why challenge a spot when winning the challenge would still result in a first and goal for the opponent? Dumb.
  10. Luke Gofannon.
  11. I have no problem with that considering that Lauenstein just became available and Carlson was added to give us 2 high quality setter instead of one. Maybe Carlson played a lot tonight because it was against her old team. Maybe it was because we are finally seeing the end game of two setters rotating in for each other every set. We might get an answer to that question against Hawaii. We just won a game on the road against a top 20 team in straight sets. We might not three-peat, but I'm not worried at all about this team or the state of the program.
  12. Rallied from down 22-19 to win third set 26-24. Skinner took over with a string of kills down the stretch.
  13. Second set a lot dicier after a Baylor challenge of a touch ruling on Baylor upheld, and Baylor went on a 3-0 tun to take a late 1 point lead. 25-23 Texas with a big drop in hitting percentage. Rutherford has been nails all match so far, and Singletary has been a blocking machine.
  14. First set all Texas with Rutherford and Kahahawai combining for 7 kills in 9 swings. Swindle started, but she and Carlson have split time evenly in the first set. Set finished 25-17 with Texas hitting .500.
  15. Whether you call it resignation or call it panicking, the negative vibe on this thread is silly We started last year 5-3, including getting swept by Stanford in Austin. We started this year playing around with a different setter. And yeah, Stanford in #2 in the country and playing at home.
  16. We have a Lauenstein sighting.
  17. How good can you be to lose to USCe by 25?
  18. My first thread about SECness. Toledo 35-3 over Mississippi State in the 3rd quarter in Starkville. Our first SEC conference opponent.
  19. Texas State did nothing on offense after that great fourth down conversion at the end of the third quarter.
  20. Have to go for it here, I think.
  21. We lost to an unranked team in our opener and to two OOC teams in Austin to start last year 5-3. I'm not worried about this team. I always thought we needed either to go back to Swindle or to give Carlson several matches to get the timing right with the hitters, and I always favored the former.
  22. And let's not forget then spinning out of the tackle without a knee hitting the ground to gain another 7-8 yards.
  23. Beautiful hurdle by the Bobcat receiver.
  24. I was tied up yesterday and couldn't report on this until watching a rerun today, but Texas swept Houston 25-19, 25-18, 25-20. Swindle set the whole match. Her first 7 sets resulted in 7 Texas kills. Ames, Skinner, Rutherford, Rutherford again, Singletary, Wenaas from the back row, Skinner. Houston isn't that good this year, but that was awesome to watch. Texas faltered a bit about 1/3 of the way into the first set, giving up 4 straight points, the last two on a hitting error by Ames (off antenna on the slide) and getting out of alignment on return of serve (Ames moved too quickly and crossed Wenaas before Houston player made contact with the serve. Swindle then broke the string with a dump. Texas won the last 5 points of the second set to break open a tight set. Texas hit .370, led by Rutherford hitting .579 (12 kills, 1 error, 19 swings). Will be interesting to see whether Swindle starts against Stanford Sunday.
  25. Weigman has one career game in which he has thrown for 200+ yards against a P5 opponent. Agroids haven't won a road game since October 16, 2021.
