  1. Serious proposals: Football conferences are separated from conference alignment in other sports. Having non-revenue sports fly thousands of miles for conference match-ups is f'ing stupid. Conferences are limited to no more than 10 teams and are required to play round robin format. Tongue in cheek proposal: Offensive players remove their heads before taking the field to eliminate risk of targeting calls, I mean injuries.
  2. You also stood praised for calling your shot in the GT-Miami game.
  3. Not true. The only guarantee is that the five highest ranked conference champions will get bids. One can reasonably expect the Big 12 champ to be ranked higher than the MWC or AAC or Sunbelt champ in most seasons, but there could be a season in which that doesn't happen. https://www.si.com/college-football/big-ten-sec-take-next-step-toward-control-over-college-football
  4. That isn't what the NCAA website says. It says the five highest ranked conference champions get auto bids with the 4 highest ranked conference champions seeded 1-4. It doesn't specify conferences. https://www.ncaa.com/news/football/article/2024-08-29/how-12-team-college-football-playoff-will-work-teams-schedule-bids So what if Boise State and Army finish the season ranked above the Big 12 champ or the ACC champ? Wouldn't those conferences then need to win at-large bid?
  5. If Utah wins, then Big 12 is a one bid conference.
  6. Beating OU is so rote, there is no risk of fans on the field.
  7. Every way Blow U can lose is beautiful, but this one might be particularly pretty.
  8. I say bring Durant back for his three remaining years. Why should his time playing in the NBA matter?
  9. Miami will get ball back down 8 with about 35-40 seconds left if it gets a stop here and holds GT to a field goal, so it's not entirely over just yet.
  10. I bet Miami wishes it didn't have to take that timeout coming out of the two minute warning and GT about to punt.
  11. Ward strip sacked. Game
  12. One more plays, one more completion, and GT now needs a drive to kill the clock or get back up two scores. 28-23 with 6:07 left.
  13. Georgia Tech defense was in position to pretty much clinch the game with Miami facing 3rd and 20 from its own 10, but it was totally disorganized and wasn't set on consecutive snaps on which Miami gained 30 yards to get out of jail. Still 12 point lead for GT, but Miami driving near midfield with 6:12 to go.
  14. Now who could possibly see this guy as a predator?
  15. Where will Florida keep him? Ever see "The Old Guard?"
  16. We won't need him in the games before going to Barclay's, but we do need him to get time on the floor with teammates before we face real competition, so it sucks that he will miss the next 3 games. But his long term health matters a lot more than a non-confrrence win.
  17. Website doesn't say why she sat out again, and I wasn't listening to the broadcast, so I don't know, but that is two straight matches she missed. Kahahawai played sparingly again, so I'm wondering if there is a flu bug or something.
  18. 25-17 Texas in the fourth set. Skinner finished with 25 kills and a .408 hitting percentage. She connected on several back row kills. Texas had only 2 receiving errors all match. Swindle didn't play. Kahahawai played very little.
  19. Ames having a great match. 8 kills in 17 swings, 0 errors, 6 blocks. Texas up 9-6 pending review. Looks like Wenaas got a finger on teh ball going out. Yep. 8-7 Texas. Wenaas kill on her two handed lob shot. Followed it with an ace. 10-7.
  20. Kahahwai starts fourth set and shares block with Ames. 1-0 Texas. Then she gets blocked. 1-1 MSU crosscourt weakside falls in . Ames dink finds open floor. 2-2. Skinner kill. 3-2 Texas.
  21. We have only 2 blocks since the first set. Just gGot another one here winding up the third, but lost the third set 25-21.
  22. MSU middle kill off block falls in. Texas in net on block attempt. 22-19 MSU. Texas timeout.
  23. Kahahawai back off the court. She got a fingertip on the ball on a block attempt but was otherwise not involved. Wenaas just tossed one to an open spot, followed by Skinner kill to bring us to 18-17 MSU. Bad pass led to 4 touches by us. Singletary blasted one midde. MSU returned the favor. 20-18 MSU Ames/SKinner block. 20-19.
