  1. Works well for other sports and hobbies. Addicted to Reels.
  2. FB postings with fake news on recruiting, portal, anything shocking. Earlier this week a post saying Sark died in a plane crash.
  3. What a sea of fake Longhorns news. Reporting fake news does not seem to deter. Perhaps the upcoming community notes helps. Everyone else seeing this ?
  4. I mostly watch in person, but for TV viewing, the aerial camera shots from over the QB are really interesting. A common theme I see when Quinn sacked or forced to a checkdown for minimal gain is the combination of 1) extra pressure arrives, disrupting the timing, 2) Quinn has to make a decision and unlikely to run out of it to buy time (occasionally works), 3) You have typically 3 vertical threats working their routes but no one's head is looking at Quinn to adapt the play, and he can't make a throw. I'm no passing game expert, but seems like the route trees need more variety such that at least someone is on a shorter timing pattern and available for an early release. We did have that nice 2nd TD to Blue on a wheel route timed over a blitz--should have had a lot more of those this year, including UGA games.
  5. Several online comments out there about ASU out-coaching UT. From a big picture view, I would argue that winning coaches are not out-coached as a summary comment, even if the losing teach had in-game successes like shutting down the UT run game. You are what the final score says you are.
  6. I'm more interested in: 1) why the run game stuffed, 2) If ASU overplaying the run then why minimal successful targets to Bond and Wingo (although a nice catch in OT), 3) have we stopped any special teams trick plays?. Defense was amazing considering how long they were on the field.
  7. They say that orthopedic surgeons can make some money hanging out around ski resorts. Cardiologist could do the same hanging out around Longhorns fans.
  8. Casey Cain entered the portal. Surprised he has eligibility and wondering the plan.
  9. Back in the portal again... Denver Harris--recalling the staff spent a lot of time on his first recruitment. He's already down to 1 year left. I think on the long Arch manning TD run against UTSA, Harris had an angle to tackle near the goal line but too late. An article from his OV: https://www.si.com/college/texas/football/top-2022-cb-denver-harris-impressed-with-longhorns-after-visit-to-austin Isaiah Neyor again--some articles talk on NFL possible. From our own portal activity, it was interesting to look back at the 2023 class with Jelani McDonald and Tausili Akana ranked right next to each other, but very different development directions.
  10. I’m at the Texans vs Dolphins game and both teams’ passing attack is mostly horizontal or 5-10 yard range. Neither team has attempted a true deep shot. Maybe Quinn is ready.
  11. Per 247 ranking: SEC--24 Big 10--10 Big 12--0 ACC--0 (i.e. not even Miami, FSU, Clemson) Everyone else also 0 as far as I see
  12. By jersey # 0: Hill--all over the field; rarely misses a tackle 0: Moore--hard work paying off; nice 1st TD; takes a lot of blocks 1: Cook--finally some key targets 1: Finkley--looks about like last year; solid 2: Golden--on the long screen TD pass to Bond--he set the edge block well; several move the chains catches 2: Williams--lots of snaps--seems a bit slower than I remembered 3: Ewers--hope he's ok; not much to add from TV broadcast; that interception was quite odd 3: Guilbeau--another all over the field guy; solid tackler 4: Mukuba--no highlights but looks solid 4: Baxter--get well! 5: Muhammad--looks lock down; nice breakup behind the receiver without getting a PI 5:Wingo--has he dropped any targets? On the long TD, my eyes were on Cook and then Arch and then the ball is in the air and he's open by 10 yards. The highlight reel misses his move. The TV broadcast with a vertical view shows he collided with the DB down field and the DB fell while Wingo kept moving. 6:-Black--a few snaps; don't recall his man targeted 6: Clark--get well! 7: Barron--another solid outing; all over the field 7: Bond--great game--a mixture of skills of X and Mitchell 8: Moore--lots of snaps; looks solid; no real highlights 8: Niblack--several snaps without targets--mostly blocking assignments--you can see why Helm and Davis are ahead of him 9: Gibson--solid game--will be needed 11: Bolden--you can tell they are trying to get him an explosive play but just hasn't happened yet 11: Simmons--looks amazing--would have another sack but was held by the collar and no call 13: Cole--late game snaps--I don't think his man was targeted 13: Livingstone--a few late snaps; hard to tell 14: Butler--I think he was in street clothes--any news? 15: Norton--overall solid DT presence 15: Owens--a good start--tough being in the game so late with all 3's and 4's on the field--on that note--Arch had the full 1st string O-line most of his time which makes sense with injured QB-1 15: Stone--hit his right size endzone kicks all game 16: Arch--every bit as fun to see in person as on TV watch; He took some hits and missed a blind side blitz 16: Taaffe--no highlights but lots of hits; solid 18: Lefau--a lot of snaps and some solo tackles--looks promising 18: Tatum--DNP 19 Lourd--DNP 19: Umeozulu---I don't recall seeing will continue with 20-40, etc.

  13. And then watch the Alabama movie from last year.
  14. Early game--a lot of 2-3 DT's and 1 edge. Late game had a lot of Moore and Simmons when it was clear Michigan had to throw more--although their 4th quarter offense game plan was puzzling if trying to actually mount a come back. They ran off as much clock in the 4th as we did with runs and short passes in the middle. The clock basically ran most of the 4th on both sides of the ball.
  15. I re-watched the condensed broadcast, and this guy's film room video: Yes Niblack was absent. Probably relates to Juan Davis being all over the place in the blocking game--had a 1-2 targets that did not hit. On one score he neutralized an edge. Deondre Moore was also on several snaps and had the 1 TD called back. Cook and Wingo were on several snaps but mostly running DB's off the targeted areas. Per this guy's video--although many described Michigan as giving us multiple fronts, there was still a majority of snaps in cover 3, and he shows how Sark just carved up what was given over and over. Also a great explanation of how Sark tried and end around that did not hit, and then went back to it again with Wingo and presented it different with two different pre-snap alignments that got Michigan into too many shifts. Related--I know the OTF crew discussed why they don't have game film featured on the channel but can't recall the answer. Clearly other channels do film study and work out the copyright issues.
  16. I saw that also--Red looks like RB1 now. Would have played if he stayed but down on the depth chart and some gadget plays. I still think the "Redcat" can only work if there is a little threat of a pass out of it. Crawford is solid but I like our upgraded speed. Ross--obviously some details kept in confidence on what happened.
  17. A few box score observations : —Jalen Catelon with a pick six for UNLV. A tipped pass rushing the qb he caught and ran back —Jake Smith looks like he’s made it back from injury and multiple transfers—3 catches for Az State —Troy Omeire listed 2nd on Az State depth chart. No catches this week. — Isaiah Neyor with a big game for Nebraska. Not that we are hurting at Wr but always wondered why we could rehab him back to the rotation. As the OTF crew have discussed—wining teams will have transfer out players move on to productive careers.
