James Brown, QB
Priest Holmes, RB
Ricky Williams, RB
Was a middle schooler in Austin hearing all over the tv how these 3 led UT to the final SWC championship and the first Big 12 championship.
Back when we had a Priest, a Bishop, and a God(father) 😂

I’m with you on that. I think somewhere in the 12-15 range is fair.
What do you think our starting rotation will look like? I know it’s likely up in the air, but if you had to take a stab today…
-
Thanks @Blake Munroe. I know things can change but if you had to guess our starting rotation, what would it be?

I just have to say one of the better reoccurring moments of C&F is when @Gerry Hamilton drops a bomb on a&m or ou then casually takes a long pull from his tumbler with a sheepish grin on his face allowing the remark to settle for a few seconds.
Sometimes it’s sly enough that Blake and Bobby don’t catch it. But the knowing listener always does, and the grin and long sip is a dead giveaway.

Haha yep. Three “standouts” is the most natural reading. This is how you know you’ve been following recruiting too closely 😂

Just give us the gist. Did CJ say we put the belt to ass and daddy’s home?

I would love to have a talent like Charles in the class but he’s always been quite flighty. Be interesting to see how his career plays out.

Eliminate the playoff. Go to the AP #1 vs #2 playing in the Rose Bowl every year.
*ducks*

I understand there are lots of nuances to these decisions, and I hope this doesn’t come off the wrong way, but if he is so good then why is it expected he makes it in? Just a kid that really wants to go to college?
When Taylor Jungmann was asked this question he quietly and succinctly replied, “Always been a Horn”. 🤘

Fully expect him to make it in.
Like, a Josh Bell level of certainty?

Great stuff, Bobby. I would highly recommend adding a “Coffee and Football” branded tee shirt. I would buy that instantly.

I can understand A&M coming hard and making a big push, but it doesn’t seem like we ever cooled on him, or ghosted him. We were in on him pretty early, gave him a chance to commit during the spring. As soon as his A&M visit went well Sark was talking with him the next night.
It’s not like we thought we had our class set with the three 5s and stopped recruiting him. He’s always had a spot and I hope he sees it that way.

Here’s the one thing I will say about recruiting that has never changed or will change
Fans want the best hint or current update on their teams chances for a prospect …
Fans want the info, that will never change. Some fan will also take the negative news or change in a recruitment with the mindset that the info was wrong or sources were wrong … the part of that is missed in those scenarios is the likelihood that even the schools recruiting a prospect were surprised or caught off guard by the switch or change of direction. Recruiting is a winding road, more than ever due to NIL, even for the college coaches.
The whole industry business marketing part of the game with Crystal Ball and RPM’s has drastically changed how fans react to negative news or changes in a recruitment. That marketing has been great for subscription sales in the industry, but it’s also greatly changed the way fans react when a recruitment shifts or changes. Make no mistake, there is pressure applied to employees to make pics (a lot of times much earlier than desired) to sell subs/traffic through recruiting prospect hype. That might not be a popular thing to say, but it’s factual.
Correct. We want the info and facts on the ground as well as conjecture and your personal opinion on matters. You and OTF deliver both at an extremely high level.
Not much you can do or say for people that want you to be soothsayers. It’s also laughable that people seriously think you would intentionally mislead or gaslight to gain subs. Pulling the rug out on a passionate fan base is the worst business model I can think of.

A brief sampling of box scores showed him almost exclusively in Left and leading off with a smattering of games in Right and hitting second.
