  1. Fair enough. Do you think CDC had the option to hire an "elite" coach with a FF on his resume? Which ones were available?
  2. Good time to mention his left guard. 2 year starter Bray Lynch Westlake HS. He's making some noise with the scouts.
  3. Try and win with defense. More 12 personell. Use Manning like a Tim Tebow (good fullback with mediocre passing skills). When they have to bring a safety up take a few deep shots. Every game will be tight. Kick field goals when you can. Hope 3 losses (from OU, A&M, Georgia) gets you in.
  4. Competive bids from more schools combined with our loaded roster = more recruiting losses than weve seen the last few seasons. It was a good run, just keep using the portal efficiently and the additional losses are small blips .
  5. All of these opinions of Mack can be true at the same time.
  6. They've made incredible investments into athletics being the main part of the A&M experience. They've changed AD's. They've changed conferences. They've changed their image with helicopters, WRTS, SEC,SEC, Johnny Football, etc. They've paid bags before it was legal. They've changed coaches. They've tried short term investments into their future with crazy NIL, and longterm investments with the move to the SEC. They've lowered admission standards. They've upgraded facilities. All the constant change, but the results are incredibly consistent. So what haven't they changed? Whats consistent? Their traditions. Their town. The fanbase.
  7. Yep, but someones probably gonna pay it. NIL in college basketball vs college football are two different animals. A guy I follow once said NIL (football) means your main competitor most of the time is the dumbest one, the program willing to outspend for a single blue chip who becomes one of 22. Best example was TT buying Micah Hudson, when they could have allocated the same money for a handful of players to transform for their terrible defense. Just bad NIL management. Basketball NIL goes to a player(s) whose going to be one of 5 and can make a significant impact on your season. And theres probably 120 teams that can afford to pay one guy top dollar. The top 30 programs have more competition now than ever to secure the commitment of the best players.
  8. My theory. Kansas and the bluebloods have lost a big chunk of their advantage. NIL and portal in basketball disperses the top talent amongst 200 + teams. One acquisition in basketball can make a difference to your season and everyones trying to play. Pre-NIL/ Portal the top talent was mostly dispersed amongst the blue bloods through HS recruiting and a few transfers here and there. It's going to be harder for the perennial top programs to maintain dominance year after year going forward. Seasons similar to this one for the Jayhawks are going to be more frequent.
  9. I'm not sure how this works but didn't CDC have a part in Shaka to Marquette to clear the way for Beard? Assuming we perform to season baseline the rest of the way (1 or 2 more games total) , Is this how its gonna shake out again, if the right guy has been identified and agreed?
  10. I absolutely was being a smartass Clint Baros. Just a statement on Austins parking environment these days. Good advice from Jeff Howe. Enjoy the game. Moody is awesome!
  11. Rodney Terry @ Fresno St., 2011-2018 126-108 Overall 62-58 Mountain West conference, 1 season out of 7 finished better than 4th place Rodney Terry @ UTEP, 2018-2021 37-48 overall 19-33 CUSA, finished 14th, 11th and 5th in his three seasons. Cmon UTEP and Fresno State, your coach needed more support.
  12. I copied this from a few weeks ago....... The University of Texas had just fought a long PR battle over the Eyes of Texas and the dust had finally settled between all the parties involved. IMO this played a factor in Terry being named HC. The only reason? no. A factor in the decision? yes. The blowback had they gone a different direction wasn't worth it.
  13. FACT: CDC knows basketball and he personally prefers to watch the sport of basketball over all other sports. Rodney Terry was way down the list of candidates.
