  1. Shaka was a great hire. Everyone had been offering him over the years and he finally said yes. To us. Didnt work out but great hire.
  2. Agreed. I go all the way back to the Krivaks, Baxter, Branyon, Lasalle T days and for the first time I checked out on the program. I really liked Terry the man, but there was a reason he was a .500 coach at Fresno and UTEP.
  3. His hand was forced.
  4. I saw an interview with Kelce talking about his lack of size at 6'2" 280 and how he was able to be so successful. Against bigger he would use his leverage to get under them. Against smaller he could use his arm length for leverage. He said the one player he hated going against was Poona Ford at 5'11". He said he couldnt get under him and Poona had longer arms. He couldnt block him.
  5. Overshown? Didnt he come in as a S?
  6. Gots to know Gerry.........Wingspan?
  7. Oh my! Prayers to the Murphy family. Two of my three kids were 5 and 6 weeks premature and both weighed a little over 4 lbs. Perfectly healthy young adults today. The fact that she's breathing on her own is a massive, massive positive. I can tell you those NICU units are not staffed by real humans. They are Angels, here on their mission.
  8. Fair enough. Do you think CDC had the option to hire an "elite" coach with a FF on his resume? Which ones were available?
  9. Good time to mention his left guard. 2 year starter Bray Lynch Westlake HS. He's making some noise with the scouts.
  10. Try and win with defense. More 12 personell. Use Manning like a Tim Tebow (good fullback with mediocre passing skills). When they have to bring a safety up take a few deep shots. Every game will be tight. Kick field goals when you can. Hope 3 losses (from OU, A&M, Georgia) gets you in.
  11. Competive bids from more schools combined with our loaded roster = more recruiting losses than weve seen the last few seasons. It was a good run, just keep using the portal efficiently and the additional losses are small blips .
  12. All of these opinions of Mack can be true at the same time.
  13. They've made incredible investments into athletics being the main part of the A&M experience. They've changed AD's. They've changed conferences. They've changed their image with helicopters, WRTS, SEC,SEC, Johnny Football, etc. They've paid bags before it was legal. They've changed coaches. They've tried short term investments into their future with crazy NIL, and longterm investments with the move to the SEC. They've lowered admission standards. They've upgraded facilities. All the constant change, but the results are incredibly consistent. So what haven't they changed? Whats consistent? Their traditions. Their town. The fanbase.
  14. Yep, but someones probably gonna pay it. NIL in college basketball vs college football are two different animals. A guy I follow once said NIL (football) means your main competitor most of the time is the dumbest one, the program willing to outspend for a single blue chip who becomes one of 22. Best example was TT buying Micah Hudson, when they could have allocated the same money for a handful of players to transform for their terrible defense. Just bad NIL management. Basketball NIL goes to a player(s) whose going to be one of 5 and can make a significant impact on your season. And theres probably 120 teams that can afford to pay one guy top dollar. The top 30 programs have more competition now than ever to secure the commitment of the best players.
