  1. The strength of that conference is in it's basketball programs and the last thing the tournament needed was a gimmack. What an idiotic move by Yormark. I guess a leopard cant change its spots.
  2. What's the purpose? Non basketball viewers tuning in to see the court? For the fans in attendance? I don't get why this court is needed by a premier conference tournament, the games stand on their own. I remember playing on dusty gym floors and it would completely negate the advantage of quickness and sharp cutting. I watched two different games yesterday on that glass court and the loss of traction on almost every possession was real. It's amazing the B12 rolled that out, especially for this event. Fran Frashilla and his sidekick made or were forced to make it a non-issue. My guess is the coaches/AD's made it a huge issue behind the scenes and got the change.
  3. Lebron is all about his brand. Jordan was only about winning.
  4. Agreed. I saw him play one game this season, Austin High and I was a bit disappointed. I was told post game it was his worst showing of the season. I'll keep my expectations in check and hope that Gerry is more accurate with his projections than I am. 😛
  5. There was alot of chatter at the time regarding the first pick. Oden vs Durant. Just prior to the draft, I met a former NBA player at one of my wife's work events and we had a great debate on how successful Durant would be. He basically argued Durant wasnt strong enough to survive the pounding of the NBA. I kept telling him, it wouldn't matter, Durant was a guard.
  6. Was it a doe or a buck? It matters

  8. https://www.google.com/search?q=pearl+washington+highlights&oq=pearl+washington+highlights&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUyCQgAEEUYORiABDIKCAEQABgKGBYYHjIICAIQABgWGB4yCAgDEAAYFhgeMggIBBAAGBYYHjINCAUQABiGAxiABBiKBTIHCAYQABjvBTIKCAcQABiABBiiBNIBCjE0MzM5ajBqMTWoAgiwAgHxBba8PQgj-5b6&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:4cda0dad,vid:px2uqzNCjeA,st:0 Big East in the 80's was unreal. 1985 Final Four had 3 teams. Pearl Washington was always one of my faves. If you never saw him play think JCovan Brown.
  9. First game to attend in two seasons. Heide being more aggressive is a big deal going forward. He also does a decent job on D. Not sure what the broadcast showed but Matas was very upset when he went to the bench after fouling out. Kicked a chair, head in a towel. As though he failed a goal he had made was my guess. This should have been a 15-20 point win but we simply missed too many easy inside buckets. O rebounding was really good. We just dont feed the roll to the bucket very well.
  10. He's now the team leader in minutes, points, rebounds, assists, steals and turnovers.
  11. I hope Im wrong and you're right. We know what we're getting night in and night out from Mark, Swain and to a degree Heide and Weaver. The rest is a crapshoot. Pope will always need a pick to get space but his 12 foot pull up is nice. Reminds me of Felix's. In regards to Matas I'm curious if you saw the opening tip against GA?
  12. If this was a young team a lack of focus makes sense and a possible big improvement coming as the season progresses, but this is a very experienced group of players. 4 Sr's, 3 Jr's and 1 Soph. Focus shouldn't be an issue and I'm just not optimistic we're going to get more consistent.
  13. I think he's a longshot.
