  1. I hope the Mannings could veto that but I guess it's possible... But Saban?! Seriously?! Would have been funnier and more likely to say Belichick!
  2. If I'm understanding this - a sponsored business nil deal has the review burden, but, a direct payment from a collective is exempt? Or the collective passes money through the school? As a real world example - I've seen speculation that Felix signed Techs deal before July 1 with half paid by Tech and half by TBD, but haven't seen it confirmed. So assuming he signed after the 1st, now he doesn't have to worry about justifying the value of the TBD source?
  3. Not just chasing da bag. Unreal! Glad no one was hurt, and his 2 game suspension vs fcs opponents will be a life lesson.
  4. He's in the zone where others need supplemental oxygen The waiting may be the hardest part! Age wise, hopefully he gets it done in that window. Tom Kite won the US Open at Pebble at age 42 though!
  5. Interesting, he didn't say to NOT put a fence around the state, but I'm not sure we can credibly say that and still recruit over a top instate player (which absolutely needs to be on the table). More than that, "the best stay in Texas" line, which I love, seems to have been flipped around by guys wanting to spread their wings and wallets - just a reality. Gotta fight fire with fire. Last thing: we're taking advantage of Florida schools being down, and are plucking kids out of Georgia, Bama, and LSUs back yards - but can't make headway in SoCal or regularly tap someone from Az?! Doesn't make sense!
  6. Thinking about it, at Bama he might have been in the press box and oblivious to it. Then at the game, they are subdued and he's locked in, so maybe it truly didn't register. I'm good with him ignoring it either way! And I appreciate Sankey addressing it just on merit.
  7. And for other teams: what's the one thing you're most worried about that could keep you from achieving your goals this season?
  8. From a players perspective, what makes Texas the best program in the country?
  9. I wish mods would quit reinforcing the idea that a top x class is an annual goal when it's just a metric. Recruiting rankings are an industry invention - not a measure of meeting roster needs or avoiding reaching for players. All it shows is that sucky programs can volume recruit 4 stars. I'd value a regular OTF position group grade A-F (or Inc) more.
  10. Especially breaking down the opponent rather than pointing out too many of our own hidden warts to the opponents GAs!
  11. I'll go back to my main one - clip up the shows into snackable segments like Klatt does. You've got the best content but I don't have an hour daily to watch. Hopefully boosted views and engagement offsets the costs.
  12. Not in football, and ACC travel should be a deal breaker. Mike Cronin is still recovering from his jetlag! Hopefully someone hits home Dell Medical vs a legacy med school. P.s. THI right now in Austin:92, Ann Arbor 91, The Bubble 72. But take a peek Nov-Feb!
  13. Thanks! All kinds of intrigue here - can UH fend off competition - will Aggies (and their bragging rights obsessed fans) live it down if Casuga doesn't outperform a Houston product? Even if he is the right fit on the field, can they stomach Dia and Keisean on the '27 Dave Campbell cover? - on the other hand, kudos to A&M for attracting a product of a QB factory and sticking with him, if he pans out!
  14. Is Henderson expected to stick with Houston? Aggies aren't going to break the bank?
  15. Quite a bit of variation in the evals!
  16. Chances of a portal rb option developing by spring 27 are decent compared to the chances one of the 5 stars is a bust or blows out an ankle or knee. Sucks but put the money where it is needed most.
  17. For Directors Cup, Title IX, softball fans etc - maybe. If Tech doesn't win, or, if the next $1M player is a clubhouse problem, that will be a fun conversation. And I think a player like Cat is worthy of an all sports Mt Rushmore conversation (with more than 5 heads) As for a pure economic value, or fan eyeball perspective, the $1M might help softball fundraising, but probably still has a much bigger multiplier in other sports, even outside of the QB. I'd love to see someone pencil that out.
  18. I don't know all of Tulo's responsibilities but we hit for power and field well https://www.ncaa.com/stats/baseball/d1/current/team/323 https://www.ncaa.com/stats/baseball/d1/current/team/212 On the other hand, we're #150 in obp https://www.ncaa.com/stats/baseball/d1/current/team/589/p3 And dead last on sac bunts https://www.ncaa.com/stats/baseball/d1/current/team/498/p6 The latter may be a Schloss style and I'm ok with it, but, when you don't get enough baserunners and then strand the ones you get waiting for a bomb, it's worth a discussion. Because the ultimate result is that we're also outside the top 100 in scoring https://www.ncaa.com/stats/baseball/d1/current/team/213/p3 And Pythagoras will tell you what that means. Although I'd pin the regional exit on pitching, the arm farm carried the season with the spotty hitting showcasing itself in the jekyll and hyde Sunday double header.
  19. After baseball I don't want to be too overconfident but I like our chances vs Tech; on the other hand until proven otherwise hard to take 2 from the "home team"
  20. I love the loser bracket crossover. Hopefully 0u gets eliminated by Tech. That woukd be a favorable championship series matchup.
  21. Another in a long line of Riley TEs. Oh, wait?!?! I'm surprised we haven't made better inroads at mater dei.
  22. Here's Tenn coach's explanation https://www.knoxnews.com/story/sports/college/university-of-tennessee/other-sports/2025/05/29/tennessee-oklahoma-softball-ella-parker-walkoff-home-run-karlyn-pickens/83930050007/ In other words, she thought the risk of Parker standing at 1B was greater than standing at home with a big hot bat in her hands.
  23. Tennessee choked... we gotta do it the old fashioned way
