  1. I’m getting a late start because CJ and I recorded a video that’s running on the YouTube channel tomorrow morning. The Longhorns go for the series win at 2 p.m.
  2. Does the Longhorn Band's performance in College Station after the bonfire tragedy count? If not, I'll go with the recruiting week on the road that I felt nearly led to me getting divorced (thank goodness it didn't). I'm pulling out of the parking lot at Dallas Skyline late on Thursday afternoon when Gerry calls me and tells me that if I'm headed home, I might want to turn around and stay the night in Dallas because Jackson Jeffcoat was going to commit to Texas on Friday morning. By the time I got settled in at a relative's house, we confirmed that Texas was getting a commitment from Jordan Hicks on Friday afternoon, too. Five-Star Friday is one I won't forget.
  3. FINAL: Texas 4, Santa Clara 2 That's 11 wins in a row for the Longhorns.
  4. Grubbs gets Olson to strike out swinging to end the game.
  5. Conner Smith pokes one into right. It's an RBI base hit to make it a 4-2 game.
  6. Two down with a runner on second. Schloss is going to leave Grubbs in to finish it off.
  7. Flores flies out to right and the inning is over.
  8. Belyeu draws a walk. Farmer comes home and it's 4-1. Bases loaded with two outs for Flores.
  9. Andrew Habermann is the new pitcher for the Broncos.
  10. Mendoza walks. We've got a pitching change as Belyeu comes up with the bases loaded.
  11. Galvan draws a walk. Two on, two down for Mendoza.
  12. Tommy Farmer draws a two-out walk and then steals second. He's in scoring position with Galvan up.
  13. Back-to-back strikeouts finish off the Broncos in the eighth. That's seven in a row retired by Grubbs since allowing the RBI base hit.
  14. Grubbs is back out for the top of the eighth.
  15. The Longhorns went down in order in the seventh.
  16. Grubbs retires the Broncos in order in the seventh on three groundouts.
  17. Belyeu strikes out and the Galvan is picked off trying to make his way back to third base. The double play ends the inning.
  18. Mendoza steals second. It's now RISP with one out for Belyeu.
