AUSTIN, Texas — The 2025-26 University of Texas Men’s Basketball non-conference schedule was released Thursday and features eight non-conference home games in the fourth season of Moody Center, including a marquee matchup against Virginia as part of the ACC/SEC Challenge. The slate also features a season-opening neutral-site contest against Duke in Charlotte, three games in Hawaii as part of the Southwest Maui Invitational, and a road game at UConn.
The Southeastern Conference schedule has not been finalized at this time, although the league previously announced opponents along with home and away designations for the upcoming conference slate. Tipoff times and the complete television schedule for the 2025-26 season will be announced when available.
The Longhorns open the regular season on Tuesday, Nov. 4 with a neutral-site contest in the Dick Vitale Invitational against Duke at Charlotte’s Spectrum Center. This will mark the sixth meeting between Texas and the Blue Devils and first since an overtime contest in the semifinals of the PK80 Championship in Portland, Ore., on Nov. 24, 2017.
Texas will then open a four-game homestand in Moody Center with its home opener against Lafayette on Saturday, Nov. 8. This will mark the first meeting in men’s basketball between the Longhorns and the Leopards. UT will host Fairleigh Dickinson on Wednesday, Nov. 12. The Longhorns registered a 63-59 win in Gregory Gym in the only previous matchup against the Knights on Dec. 20, 1975. Texas will then play Kansas City in Moody Center on Saturday, Nov. 15, marking the first matchup against the Roos in program history. The Longhorns will host Rider on Tuesday, Nov. 18, also marking the first time Texas has faced the Broncs in men’s basketball.
Texas heads to Hawaii on Nov. 24-26 (Monday-Wednesday) to play three contests in the prestigious Southwest Maui Invitational at the Lahaina Civic Center. This year’s eight-team tourney field also includes: Arizona State, Boise State, host Chaminade, NC State, Seton Hall, USC and Washington State. Pairings for the three-day event have not been announced.
The Longhorns return to Austin to host Virginia on Wednesday, Dec. 3 in the ACC/SEC Challenge. This will mark the first meeting in men’s basketball between Texas and the Cavaliers. Texas will host Southern on Monday, Dec. 8. The Longhorns recorded an 89-56 victory in the Frank Erwin Center in the only previous matchup against the Jaguars on Nov. 15, 2005.
Texas will travel to Hartford, Conn., on Friday, Dec. 12 to face perennial national power UConn at the XL Center. This marks the third consecutive season that the Longhorns and Huskies will meet on the court, and UConn holds an 8-3 advantage in the all-time series between the two schools. Texas will conclude its non-conference schedule with a pair of home games against Le Moyne on Tuesday, Dec. 16 and Maryland Eastern Shore on Monday, Dec. 22. This will mark the first matchups in men’s basketball against both the Dolphins and the Hawks.
Texas will begin Southeastern Conference play on Saturday, Jan. 3. The Longhorns will conclude SEC regular-season action on Saturday, March 7.
