  1. Our own @Rod Babers started the Houston Lamar pipeline, which has also been a good one for the Longhorns.
  2. Gerry, Bobby and I have done various studies regarding this topic over the years. I know thinking change over time and there are ebbs and flows. But I’m driving to the Houston area today and it occurred to me how good Brenham has been to the Longhorns. From Roosevelt Leaks to Limas Sweed to Malcom Brown, there have been some great Texas football players who’ve come from the land of Blue Bell. It’s hard to top the Brenham pipeline in both quality and quantity.
  3. Snacks was waived by the Titans, but the Raiders picked up. He wasn’t without a home for long.

  4. Shout-out to Alex De La Torre, a former All-Big 12 fullback.
  5. Earlier today, the Texas baseball program secured a commitment from Liberty transfer INF Callum Early (6-0, 170). As a freshman for the Flames, Early hit .295 (31-for-105), with two home runs, 15 RBI and an OPS of .837 (25 strikeouts and 22 walks).
  6. Even the home conference schedule (Florida, Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas A&M and Vanderbilt), which I know Texas has no control over, is good, but I've seen better.
  7. Yes, in a big way on the latter. Arch has a better feel for throwing the deep ball than Quinn.
  8. The non-conference opponents are good, just not a lot of meat on the bone unless you're planning on traveling.
  9. It's supposed to start showing up in stores late this week or early next week. The DCTF subscription is the way to go.
  10. Hill doesn't play a premium position, but he's a premium player. He can be the cornerstone of an NFL defense for the next decade.
  11. Helluva career for the former Longhorn All-American. That he was a top-100 draft pick after two serious injuries in college and played 10 years in the league after dealing with injuries in his pro career speaks to his talent and perseverance.
  12. The TransA&M
  13. Ohio State fans are basically who Texas Tech fans would be if Tech had an elite football program. Cut from the same cloth.
  14. Yes, point the finger at Texas, because the upstanding schools of the SEC did everything above board before NIL. The butthurt is strong.
  15. Eight games at Moody Center before SEC play, including the SEC/ACC Challenge against Virginia on Dec. 3. Here's the full release from UT: AUSTIN, Texas — The 2025-26 University of Texas Men’s Basketball non-conference schedule was released Thursday and features eight non-conference home games in the fourth season of Moody Center, including a marquee matchup against Virginia as part of the ACC/SEC Challenge. The slate also features a season-opening neutral-site contest against Duke in Charlotte, three games in Hawaii as part of the Southwest Maui Invitational, and a road game at UConn. The Southeastern Conference schedule has not been finalized at this time, although the league previously announced opponents along with home and away designations for the upcoming conference slate. Tipoff times and the complete television schedule for the 2025-26 season will be announced when available. The Longhorns open the regular season on Tuesday, Nov. 4 with a neutral-site contest in the Dick Vitale Invitational against Duke at Charlotte’s Spectrum Center. This will mark the sixth meeting between Texas and the Blue Devils and first since an overtime contest in the semifinals of the PK80 Championship in Portland, Ore., on Nov. 24, 2017. Texas will then open a four-game homestand in Moody Center with its home opener against Lafayette on Saturday, Nov. 8. This will mark the first meeting in men’s basketball between the Longhorns and the Leopards. UT will host Fairleigh Dickinson on Wednesday, Nov. 12. The Longhorns registered a 63-59 win in Gregory Gym in the only previous matchup against the Knights on Dec. 20, 1975. Texas will then play Kansas City in Moody Center on Saturday, Nov. 15, marking the first matchup against the Roos in program history. The Longhorns will host Rider on Tuesday, Nov. 18, also marking the first time Texas has faced the Broncs in men’s basketball. Texas heads to Hawaii on Nov. 24-26 (Monday-Wednesday) to play three contests in the prestigious Southwest Maui Invitational at the Lahaina Civic Center. This year’s eight-team tourney field also includes: Arizona State, Boise State, host Chaminade, NC State, Seton Hall, USC and Washington State. Pairings for the three-day event have not been announced. The Longhorns return to Austin to host Virginia on Wednesday, Dec. 3 in the ACC/SEC Challenge. This will mark the first meeting in men’s basketball between Texas and the Cavaliers. Texas will host Southern on Monday, Dec. 8. The Longhorns recorded an 89-56 victory in the Frank Erwin Center in the only previous matchup against the Jaguars on Nov. 15, 2005. Texas will travel to Hartford, Conn., on Friday, Dec. 12 to face perennial national power UConn at the XL Center. This marks the third consecutive season that the Longhorns and Huskies will meet on the court, and UConn holds an 8-3 advantage in the all-time series between the two schools. Texas will conclude its non-conference schedule with a pair of home games against Le Moyne on Tuesday, Dec. 16 and Maryland Eastern Shore on Monday, Dec. 22. This will mark the first matchups in men’s basketball against both the Dolphins and the Hawks. Texas will begin Southeastern Conference play on Saturday, Jan. 3. The Longhorns will conclude SEC regular-season action on Saturday, March 7.
  16. And let's not forget, Ricky wore No. 37 for one game:
  17. Nate Boyer is another notable No. 37.
  18. That goof loves to hear himself talk, legitimacy of the take be damned.
  19. I believe you have to be 10 years removed from your collegiate playing career. Vince Young, for example, was inducted in 2015. In some cases, they might wait to induct someone when their professional career is over (it's not a coincidence that Colt didn't go in until last year, when he officially retired).
  20. The portal window and the draft need to line up better. It adds unnecessary chaos and uncertainty to building a roster.
  21. Yes. We haven't been told that the staff is done.
  22. There has been some mutual interest there, yes. Where things stand as of today, I'm not sure.
