It’s not just the SEC. It’s college baseball as a whole. Oregon State had a FRESHMAN pitcher yesterday who was touching 95-96 on the reg. Pitching right now, across baseball at all levels, is insane.

We need to all knock on wood, cross our fingers and say our prayers that Flores stays healthy. The lack of depth at SS is what concerns me the most. In that event, if it were me, I’d look at moving Mendoza there and then trying to fill my hole at 2nd.

This x 100. I wouldn’t get fixated on A&M’s success this year. They have a top two/three roster in CBB. They have experience out the wahzoo. It’s their year. Now or never. What they don’t have is a ton of talent coming in and that’s because Texas and LSU are literally taking errrbody. Texas will be fine in the long term.

With tonight’s loss, Schloss joins Gus, Augie and Pierce as the only other Texas coaches in the history of the university to lose their season opener. Everyone will point out DP there, but not bad company to be in.

Just FYI: it was a precautionary hold last weekend, as she wasn’t 100% at the time. The staff felt there was zero need to put her out there against the opponents they were facing. She’s fine going forward.

Phenomenal game. Watched it on the way home tonight. We had baseball on my phone and softball on my wife’s phone. Hell of a performance by both teams. Canady will fare well in the Big 12 for the most part.

Let them laugh. They need to remember who built that program and enjoy it this year, because the future is not as bright. There’s a reason their ass is getting handed to them on the recruiting trail. Good luck with that.

Baseball is a cruel, cruel sport. Just when you think it’s a done deal, the baseball gods snatch it away and spit in your face. A tale as old as time. Side note: I watched my hometown girls basketball team (#15 in state) lose tonight to No. 1 in the state in a second round playoff game. Then came home and watched Texas lose like that. Been a great evening. Heres to a better tomorrow!
