  1. For me, not many locked down commitments any more. As someone else said, he will be on campuses. A very early commitment like this puts the X on the school back he commits to. I always think about how many visit opportunities are in front of a kid that commits very early in Junior year: Saturday games, Junior days, spring practice UOV’s, June OV’s, last weekend in July, games senior season
  2. Hicks high school stats: 2022 (freshman at Parkview High): 28 tackles, 2 INT 2023 (sophomore at Carrollton High): 67 tackles, 5.5 TFL's and 2 sacks
  3. Hicks junior year HUDL: http://www.hudl.com/v/2Q3wHL
  4. This one will be interesting ... was told just now that at least one person very close to the Carrollton High program thinks Texas is at least 50-50 for Hicks.
  5. Note on 2026 4-star safety Zelus Hicks 2026 4-star safety Zelus Hicks (Carrollton, Ga./High) is set to announce his college commitment September 12. Hicks, 6-2'ish and 180, is down to Tennessee, Texas, Auburn, Georgia and Clemson. There is more chatter about Auburn, Texas and Tennessee as of this evening. Also as of Tuesday evening, the Longhorns feel like they are very much in the race for the Peach State star. Hicks made a visit to Texas this summer with his 7v7 team. Hicks has 32 offers to date, including ten from the SEC.
  6. Not at all for me. I think he’s technically pretty advanced for his age Probably Devin Coleman because he plays about half his snaps at DT for Cedar Hill, and he will likely play center at Texas.
  7. OnTexasFootball brings you guys and gals a couple of quick Tuesday evening recruiting nuggets. Kelshaun Johnson, WR, Hitchcock (Texas) High The Texas A&M verbal told OnTexasFootball Tuesday afternoon that he plans to attend the Texas vs Georgia game October 19. The Texas staff has remained in touch with Johnson and members of the Hitchcock High staff this season. Lamar Brown, DL/OL, Baton Rouge (La.) University Lab - 2026 OnTexasFootball has been told that the Longhorns are expected to recruit the 6-5, 275 pound lineman. Texas likes Brown more on the defensive side of the ball. While things can change, it’s not considered a lock that Brown stays home for college. The Horns will have a shot at the top 75 level prospect nationally in the 2026 class if they make a big push.
  8. Think he could end up at either, but he's a mauler guard for sure. Agree. He has tackle feet, length and frame ... want to see the reactive/body quickness at Texas against the EDGE talent.
  9. Dia Bell three game junior HUDL: http://www.hudl.com/v/2PzeAd
  10. And Jonathan Cunningham brings the hat at 190 pounds
  11. Christian Scott, Barnes and Peter Jinkens last month at Skyline practice
  12. Everyone is watching Coffee & Football
  13. Through 2 games: 22 tackles, 3 PBU’s, 2.5 sacks and a pick six INT
  14. Now do UNLV’s against UH two weeks ago!
  15. This is how it’s supposed to look at 6-2.75, 239 pounds playing linebacker http://www.hudl.com/v/2Q4LHz
  16. Starting center officially out for the season
  17. Sophomore HUDL: http://www.hudl.com/v/2M3UqU
  18. Texas RB coach Tashard Choice extended an offer tonight to one of the top 2026 RB’s in the country …Jaylen McGill
  19. I like Georgia most to end No. 1, maybe 2 ... two in-state 5-stars they will probably land. Two more top 150'ish players in the country they may add. And in on one more 5-star ranked prospect. Ohio State will likely add one more to the class to lock up top 2 Texas would need to get ... Michael Terry, Javion Hilson, a 4-star WR, a 4-star DB and a 4-star DL to finish 3 for sure IMO. Unless 1-2 commits end up as 5's in final ranking to boost them into top 2
  20. Think Baxter was definitely part of it. Good call
  21. Great Q. I honestly don't remember
  22. Credit to Oregon @Joe Zura for the heads up
