    Grew up in Chicago, so basketball is the way of life. Parents are Illinois grads and I remember when Ben Wilson was murdered who was supposed to sign to Illinois. That whole class of guys who did go ended up being really good and their final four season in 89 made me love college hoops. Been to several final fours with fam living in Indianapolis. My college gf who I moved to Houston with after graduating with bachelors went to Hs at Willowridge. We went to watch that team in early 2000s with TJ and Daniel and I thought that was the best basketball complete HS team I’ve ever seen seen. TJ and VY are 2/3 reasons I became a UT fan vs A&M.

    I share the same disdain for the political themed thread. I come here for football. I do however wonder if you keep the same energy of calling people who you don’t know but disagree with Betas in person as you do from behind your keyboard/phone. Politics, name calling, and categorizing people as inferior are all things/content I can get anywhere if I want to. I’d prefer not to get any of it here.

    Grew up in Chicago, followed by Grambling, Louisiana, then Houston for 20 years before my current spot in Cedar Park. I work in sports media and cover a different sport, so I know how good this community is compared to others. My first live football game in the South, I saw Steve “Air”McNair in college and first HS game I saw VY play both ways vs North Shore in the Astrodome. That’s when I became a big HS/College football fan. I’ve been a UT fan ever since VY committed.
