    I remember CJ and gerry loving the deboer hire at bama saying “he wins wherever he goes”. I just wasn’t convinced he could field a competent defense for the SEC or win at this level on a consistent basis.

    Watched the highlights of central michigan vs san jose state. SJS longest rush didn’t happen until early in the 3rd quarter for about 11 yards. The defensive backfield and pass rush should get a lot of work this game. They are or seemed VERY pass happy against central michigan.

    Miami and LSU won’t stay ranked that high for long. They’ll find a way to lose 2 to 5 games as usual.

    As far as an identity this year i hope for arch’s sake it is screens, short game, heavy run with play action off of that. As far as an offensive identity here at texas under sark i can’t really come up with anything concrete. I thought about it over the last few days, But it’s a bit worrisome that in the last two years we’re becoming more known for defense under a “offensive guru” head coach.

    Unfortunately there’s been way too many “next times” with sark and goal line play calls. I think his goal line issues are definitely rare contrary to what he wants to believe.

    I think missing out on Eric Singleton to auburn hurt. Johntay isn’t a burner and zachariah is more of a gimmick player. Jet sweeps, screens, special teams and so on. Not really a complete wide receiver who’ll make a difference.

    That’s a conclusion i came to myself that it’s a bit worrisome it seems going into year two of being know more as a good defensive program with a head coach who’s supposed to be a “offensive guru” and a “QB whisperer”
