  1. Dropping all that money to still be a mid tier team in the Big 12, LOL. God it's going to be hilarious when they still get their ass handed to them.
  2. Looks like some crystal balls coming in for Sydir Mitchell to LSU.
  3. Thank you, I did some reading after this. Apparently he's not much of a pass rusher but he's a great run stopper/lane plugger. Teams had a hard time running the ball with him on the field. Was reading a post by someone who watched a ton of Washington State ball. Have to agree, that you at least kick the tires on him.
  4. Tech big money guys are throwing money around this portal cycle. Don't think it matters for them though, because they'll still be a mid tier Big 12 team and McGuire still going to get fired.
  5. I've no idea who this guy even is or if he is a take, but compared to those teams listed, we have a playoff game in a few days that is of much more importance. He has some decent size for the position, but what is his production like? How many snaps has he played?
  6. The only knock on Banks, is his height and arm length. Apart from that, he's the best T prospect in the NFL draft. To let him slip to the 2nd round, would be a steal for someone, but beyond stupid for every NFL team to do so.
  7. Imagine he actually fumbles that and we recover? Because they couldn't jump on a fumble to save their lives in that game, lol. Literally nothing went our way in that one.
  8. This will take a few years of solid DL recruiting from Baker. Davis really slacked in that area. Only two of his recruits are still on campus. I think you'll need a guy or two in the following year, to supplement the 3 Fr from this year, January and hopefully Hills.
  9. We're going to see a few former Longhorns on the schedule next year.
  10. This is frustrating. I've no idea how we keep losing these types of guys, lol. Anyway, enough of the pity party. Best of luck to him chasing DB's after Arnold throws 5 interceptions a game, lol. Shame we missed on the kid who went to A&M, that guy has ridiculous speed, too.
  11. Outside of Brevard and Hunter, who we were targeting and got at least one. Who else in the portal fits the Texas size/production and could be a potential target?
  12. I think there is cause to be concerned a little, but I have trust in this staff to get it done. Davis really left a hole, that Baker is now t rying to fill (his first class is amazing, btw). Justus Terry, 5 star, 6'5 275, Myron Charles, 4 star, 6'4 295 and Josiah Sharma, 4 star 6'4 325. Those guys are all going to play for Texas. January has a ton of upside, excited for his development/future. Hills I really have no idea about, hope he stays though. Brevard is a great addition. Hunter is a big loss, because he had the size and production that the staff covets. Haven't really heard of anyone else being a target in the portal. I thought Silver from Kentucky would be one, but I don't think he is. So while I'm not overly worried, I am a tad bit worried with the portal closing. Although my understanding was that the window is closing, not your ability to sign players from the portal? So there still may be a chance some playoff teams bleed some players into the portal before it closes, right?
  13. I think if the kid from Clemson jumped in, Texas would be all over him. Woods I think his name is? There are guys in the portal that fit the bill for Texas, but they aren't going to rush their decisions on guys. Not how this staff rolls. The portal may close on the 28th but that only means guys can't jump in, I believe. Not that you still can't sign them. To your point about Lee Hunter, I've seen some places say he has committed officially to Texas Tech but I don't know if he's signed? Wonder if he would still take the visit to Austin or not.
  14. I don't think it's a horrible idea. There's not a lot of 300+ pound guys in the portal with proven production. In saying that, I'm not sure this guy production wise fits the bill. He also looked like he got pushed around quite a bit considering his size. We also did lose out on Hunter, for what it's worth. Some places seem to confirm that he's officially committed to Texas Tech. Now, whether he signs with them is a whole other thing.
  15. Also a few other former Longhorns have found landing spots in the portal now. CB - Cole has committed to Arizona DL - Bryant has committed to Vanderbilt
