  1. I'll play! OL: Kasey Studdard - played with an aggression that suits the OK drill RB: Cedric Benson - great short yardage back DL: Hard to top Hampton, but I'll use my recency bias to select Byron Murphy - I think his bull dog pass rush works well for this drill LB: Nobis is probably the correct answer, but since he was before my time, I'll take DJ since he's my favorite (but admittedly not the best for this specific drill) Winner: Defense with Derrick Johnson punching the ball out for the fumble!
  2. Would love to see Gbenda drafted. Seemed like a great locker room guy that was more concerned with winning than his snap count. Continued to improve each year and made a substantial impact on the girls even though most wrote him off after year 2.
  3. I've seen the term "top 30 visit" a lot this year... Can you explain what that is? Assuming each NFL team is only allowed to invite 30 prospects in for a visit? If so, is this a new rule?
  4. Really enjoy these deep dives! A few ideas that come to mind: - Sarks play calling at Washington with Jake Locker at QB: any tendencies he had, how he utilized the QB run game, etc. - Evolution of PK's play calling over the past 4 years: % blitz and how it's deployed (situationally by down & distance and type of blitz), press man / zone concepts - Performance of first 2-3 offensive drives to open each half Thanks for all you do!
  5. I like Rodney. Seems like a genuinely great guy. Probably a solid coach too, but seems like a better fit for a mid-major. At the end of the day, he's not elevating the program. Not just from a W-L perspective, but also with regards to the fan engagement, generating buzz, etc. Seems like he's treading water rather than having a vision as to how to grow the program overall.
  6. I think Lane Kiffin should be in the top 15. Lincoln & Rich Rod should be much lower (not sure rich rod should be in the top 25).
  7. Gideon dropped INT > Crabtree TD was about as big of an emotional let down as it gets. The Roy Williams Superman move took all the life out of that game. Recency bias: Watching Texas "attack" MSST's 2-2-1 full court pressure, en route to multiple 10-sec violations, was about as frustrating as it gets. Not heartbreaking re: the season, but definitely heartbreaking re: overall ineptitude.
  8. I'm not familiar with the details of the transgressions at LSU, but considering they stemmed from paying players which is now 'legal' - any other skeletons in the closet that would keep him from being a candidate, IF Rodney can't right the ship? Thoughts on him as a coach / overall style of play? My buddy that has his finger to the pulse said he actually has a great relationship with his staff/players and is highly thought-of. Any other mid-major coaches y'all think might become household names with a run as Cinderella in March? Guys like Dusty May, as an example.
  9. In my mind, OU has been it historically, but these next couple years it's A&M. Want to dominate those fools in typical big bro fashion till they say "you're my daddy" 😂
  10. Any other SNL fans out there tuning in tonight for the 50th anniversary show tonight? Pretty awesome night for an iconic show.
  11. Love the topic, but I'll counter your Blue fit with the Browns with a Chiefs recommendation. His speed, alongside the weapons on the outside, would be lethal in 3rd down packages... And a nice complement to Pacheco. But are his pass blocking skills solid enough for that role? Plus it sure doesn't seem like the Browns have the right culture in place for Blue to really take his game to the next level. But admittedly I'm only basing that on a gut feeling.
  12. Not sure any of those records will be broken, but I'd guess D'Onta & colts would have the highest likelihood. I actually had never heard of Kiki, but can't imagine someone recording 23 sacks in a college season. Nor can I see anyone posting 195+ tackles. Even in a 17 game season, that's 11.5 tackles per game... But he did it in 11 games - almost 18 tackles per game - Crazy!
  13. Birmingham, AL
  14. Love this... Thanks so much for all your efforts, Jeff! Great to be reading your work again!
  15. That may be true, but to Brian's point, I think there are some intricacies that would be interesting to learn about. For instance, where do things stand on 'pay for play' & is there a difference in how that can be set up if the NIL $ is from a marketing partnership, donor, or school funds? Can they provide incentives? Like if you get 5 sacks/TD's vs 10. Do schools handle that differently? How much assistance do kids get from the schools to help with investment/financial strategies? Does Texas do anything unique/special here that helps the kids moreso than other schools? I've got tons of questions, but the only info you see on the interwebs is fluff saying someone got $5 million, then others saying it's just a bunch of BS being floated. No real/accurate intel out there.
