  2. 100% what he is doing. If UTSA will step up, he will stay
  3. Steve Sarkisian and Chris Gilbert are on the road in DFW today, after watching Waxahachie last night. Sark and Gilbert are expected to be by Euless Trinity to see 5-star 2027 CB John Meredith III today. Meredith III is considered a Texas A&M lean. Texas Tech is being very aggressive here right now. Meredith III is expected to attend a Texas home game later this month.

  4. Since Georgia likes to blitz w their LBs, plays like this one from last year (or RB leaks, TE leaks, etc.) can help us gain tons of YAC yards in addition to targets to motion as Jeff and Rod discussed on the pod yesterday. Our OL last year was better suited at providing the length of time needed for this particular play to develop… but RB / TE leaks can be a great counter to Georgia’s LBs if they attack the LOS. 5. Jeff Traylor isn’t criticizing other programs; rather, Traylor is focused on UTSA’s future. By joining a conference with schools that have substantial donor support—such as Memphis and USF—UTSA faces the challenge of increasing contributions to remain competitive. Without stepping up, the program risks falling behind other AAC teams. I agree with you that for Traylor to compete at a higher level, moving to a school like Oklahoma State or Arkansas, where the NIL budget is larger, might be necessary.

  7. Yup that kentucky game is all you need to see to know the stat doesn’t matter. The good thing is it seems like the OL improved with the adjustment of Hutson to LG and keeping Robertson at C. They’ve shown flashes they can be serviceable against good competition. Their worst games were the ones where it seemed like they thought they would easily overpower the opposing DL just because of the talent disparity
  8. It’s more scheme than injuries imo. 2023 had a terrible Houston and TCU team as well as KSU dicing up the secondary with quick short passes. DBs are giving way too much cushion on short yardage even in zone.
  9. @Gerry Hamilton Is the rumor of Arky offering 10 mill legit? Seems insane for them to offer that amount paying Cal what they are already. More power to them if true..
  10. Same will happen to sandy aggy once they stop getting Campbell's money. Though that pipeline will be available for a while.
  11. yes - back in 2019
  12. Defense Texas needs to keep wrs branch and young in check. No excuses for busts in the secondary. Horns dline have to contain the running game and keep stockton in the pocket. Stockton is much more dangerous if he has rpo especially outside the box. Last but not least UGA offense has very few turnovers this year. If Texas can force a couple in Athens it would do a ton to give an extra possesion or 2. Offense Texas offense has to sustain drives. If they can work the edges and minimize 3 and outs the UGA defense will wear down. That should make life much easier in the late 3rd and fourth quarter. The Horns can not abandon the run. Lastly Texas has to play disciplined, no stupid/untimely penalties or turnovers. I do believe this is the best opportunity for Texas to beat UGA in the last couple of years. The depth of Texas has gotten much better in Austin.
  13. Meh. Minor league gonna minor league
  14. Pickens money is gone and look at their recruiting since. Not a good landing spot for a coach in the Big 12.
  15. Did Pickens pass on? He used to dump buckets of money into Okie State.
  16. Traylor has been might whiny lately. I think it's time for him to leave for Okie St. Then he can have more of a budget and stop complaining about it.
  17. Depends on who returns. If Wisner and Baxter return and put healthier… with a better oline… plus the dude from Florida…? I am not opposed to getting a bonafide banger in the portal though.

  19. I just don't think the WR room is the problem for this team, way bigger fish to fry. The money used for Coleman could redo the entire OL, grab a DT and probably a safety from the portal. That is not an exaggeration.
  20. None at this time. The offensive line and injuries have hurt the position and I’d grade him as incomplete as of now. We definitely should go to the portal for that position and try to improve it.
  21. I think expecting a coach who is in charge of the secondary who has specialized in man to man covervage but has never been good at coaching zone coverage. I expect him to be replaced this off season. He seemed like a hire we had to make because of the Joseph and Gideon timing.
  22. A lot of our depth are true freshman. Give them a little time to grow. Sark doesn’t ho deeper than 4 or 5 in his circle of trust. Our receivers don’t seem like a problem to me if they can stay healthy. I am hoping Moore comes back for his senior season personally.
  23. The depth we hardly use? We have a lot of good or above average WRs, we don’t have a single great WR. I am of the position that we should go all in next year with extra NIL to make a run for a national championship with a year older arch. That means every position should be on the table to improve the team.
  24. It needs to start with building a first rate, dominating O'line. Do that and the the running backs, receivers and Qb all get better.
  25. This part of that comparison is largely ignored. Competition. Until we hit the playoffs last year, our opponents offensive skill talent, continuity and scheme was pretty weak. And actually their talent upfront was pretty mediocre too. I’d even say with Clemson you’ve seen their reversion to the mean this year so their talent was not overwhelming. AsU had a young QB and were missing their top WR. Georgia had good talent, but their WR were not consistent. OSU was likely easily the best from a talent and consistency standpoint. Then injuries. 2023 had Watts out quite a bit. Barron was out some then less than 100% effective. This year, Manny being out versus OU was a big deal. And obviously Taaffe the past two games and McDonald the majority of the last one.
