  2. I dont think Baugh will pull QB money. He will likely get $1.5-2mil; nonetheless, you cant have both and that is the issue. Wisner is a good change of pace RB but his production over 3 yrs does not show featured running back status. Undoubtedly, he wants to be the featured back next year to redeem himself for the draft and that is not going to happen at Texas now.
  3. In 2024 he was 3rd in the SEC in rushing with 1k yards avgeraging 4.7 ypc. His numbers were down this year partly due to injury and the oline. I’m not arguing whether or not he is worth 1 mil as I don’t know what the going rate is for a rb with his production. I trust the coaches decision and I wish him the best. I do think 2 starter level backs are needed from the portal for next season to get through a tough schedule. I also think it’s going to be difficult to get 2 of that caliber.
  4. Guys that probably won't get a look from UT staff but 0 TDs is impressive regardless of level. Mississippi Valley St produced NFL Hall of Famers Jerry Rice and Deacon Jones.
  5. 23 mph?? Out of UT Permian Basin
  6. Really now? You can't tell the difference between a real #1 RB and a guy like Wisner that warrants 10-15 carries per game? Wisner wanted "one of the best RBs in college football" money when he is actually a below average SEC starter.
  7. Today
  8. Wisner’s agent finished law school in ‘23? Awful decision from the family to let it get here even acknowledging not everyone can work with Mulugheta types.
  9. Let's see those gifts!

  10. Wisner went from a texas legend to a “me” guy for me with his actions today. 1 million for a specialty back that can’t stay healthy is a hard pass.
  11. There's no way you could justify giving Wisner $1M, if the bar is set there then what would an actual 5* stud command?
  12. Only reason to hit the portal, is because Texas wouldn't match the 1 million he wanted and the NFL wasn't telling him what he wanted to hear. Sucks to lose him, but he's not an elite RB. Wish him all the best and hope he lands on his feet somewhere.
  13. I think you're right, you will see kids go to schools visits and commit pretty quickly, if not commit on the spot. Hell some kids already have committed to other schools without the portal being open.
  14. Unfortunately Tech is driving prices up as are other teams that will dole out mega bucks For the one player they think will get them over the top. We will unfortunately have to spend a lot to get the top portal guys. Remember last year when we lost Bailey to Tech and Dominic Williams to OU. NIL budget had better increase. If Tech makes a deep run, that will just encourage Campbell to spend more next year. Tre Wisner asking for a million means Jadan Baugh will want $3,000,000. Not saying it is realistic, but that’s where we are.
  15. Agree. Now that they have Willingham, fire the AD (under whom all the toxic mess happened) and all others complicit in the UM rot, and start fresh. That said, I wonder how much was ignored to appease Harbaugh? Of course, knowing the dungheap he'd built, he leaves just in time before it implodes. His natty came none too soon.
  16. Lol, you haven't read the whole thread. That, or you need to turn up your sarcasm meter. I completely agree this deal has been done.
  17. Portal 1 & 2. 3 & 4 will be Simon/Clark. Not sure Terry stays at RB, but they need to figure out what to do with him. Think Cooper will be 5, but may work his way up to 3.
  18. That's a great hire for them, he has a great eye for talent and development. So many thought he was going to retire but he got a massive upgrade in jobs instead.
  19. I'm surprised by the Wisner news but not that surprised.
  20. I got a good chuckle out of t his, thank you.
  21. I'm leaning this way, too. Don't think he's coming.
  22. Intent to portal vs. declaring for the draft. Two different deals.
  23. Don’t be naive. Now is when the decisions are made. When the portal opens, the plan springs into action.
