Swain is the first player in program history to earn SEC Newcomer of the Year honors and the fourthindividual in school history to claim conference Newcomer of the Year accolades. Swain joins a distinguished group of Texas players to earn league Newcomer of the Year honors. Travis Mays (1987), Lance Blanks (1989) and B.J. Tyler (1992) garnered Southwest Conference Newcomer of the Year accolades. This marks the second-straight year that the Longhorns had a player earn a major individual league honor, as Tre Johnson claimed SEC Freshman of the Year recognition in 2025. During UT’s first 31 games (31 starts) this season, Swain leads the team in scoring (17.7 ppg), rebounding (7.5 rpg), assists (104, 3.4 apg), steals (55, 1.8 spg) and minutes (32.0 mpg) while hitting 55.4-percent (191-345) from the floor and 80.7-percent (138-171) from the free throw line. Per ESPN Research, he is currently the ONLY player in a Major Conference to lead his team in at least FIVE major statistical categories. Cameron Boozer (Duke) leads his team in four major stat categories through games of March 8.

Okay so build with, for example, Duru . He comes on strong during a year where he isn’t costing too much and pairing him with somebody that cost a lot.

No I was basically saying there wasn’t a pay increase. They one year left and maybe Texas felt it was better to not increase their NIL but leave it the same. Going into the portal would have cost a lot more. In other words in saved money. That’s all I was saying.

I love getting on Twitter and constantly seeing all these highlights of big hits, home runs, and strikeouts. This team looks like they’re having tons of fun too.

Yeah the first 3 or 4 innings the goal is to see pitches and communicate with teammates to get the pitch count up to chase the starter from the game. There have been a lot of fireworks in the middle innings against bullpen pitching. Weekends series are always going to have an attrition component and Texas is winning that game. I now see why DyVo is the Sunday starter and hopefully he will be able to improve command over later innings, RR is pitching unconscious right now. This team has as good of a chance to go all the way as any team in the country.

If you watch them they aren't a finished product which is probably most exciting. Some big bats have yet to get going and there are plenty of bench players contributing. We will start to find out about them in SEC play but you can't argue with 15-0 even against the competition. Just ask LSU.

I like how we run-rule teams like half the time. That's cool.

If you play 2k you understand how important the takeover meter is. This team has one and when it fills up they explode. It's frustrating at times because we can see how good this team is and want whoever they're playing to get run ruled by the third inning🤘🏿

Is he getting injured because he's playing both or is it just that he is injury prone. If he is injury prone he might as well just play baseball. He's less likely to get injured.
