  1. Past hour
  2. Truly embarrassed all around for Texas Tech. I got my law degree from there and have never been more embarrassed to be associated with the brand.
  3. I am all for supporting, monitoring, and extending resources to him. But he should not play college football again. You wanna make him a grad assisant and monitor his betting, cool. But his eligibility as a player should be done.
  4. The best part of this entire thing…I’m not sure Soresby is really any good. Why are they letting him bring them down?
  5. Gutless, unethical, lack of leadership, accountability and embarrassment to the coaching profession. Should never be allowed to coach a single day.
  6. Lawrence Sampleton is the #1 #87 for me also. After retiring, he worked with my mother on a project for a school while I was in high school. Lawrence came over to our house and hung out around our kitchen counter. He was very kind and impressive. He laughed about playing for Dick Vermeil with the Eagles. The first few times Vermeil cried during a motivational speech to the team, Lawrence was really inspired. After a few of those speeches, the players would roll their eyes, thinking "here we go again."
  7. So if I’m reading this correctly integrity of the game and how we treat people are different. Got it, so support the young man in his recovery but a major part of that is faves the consequences of your actions while deep in your addiction. Integrity looks like, he’s not a member of our team, the NCAA that we are a member of has rules that we abide by. They are clear and definitive in this case. This is a response with integrity “Mr. Sorsby will not be playing sports at Texas Tech. If he chooses to stay at our school we will continue to support him in his recovery efforts. However, we have a responsibility to all of our athletes to protect the sanctity of competition in sports. Despite the court’s ruling this young man will not be allowed to play for our team so as to jeopardize every other player’s opportunity to compete for championships while following the rules.”
  8. Exactly! Tech keeps saying this is a new world blah blah blah. No it’s not. The only thing new is they are the first ones to get a judge to overturn 100 years of precedent when it comes to gambling.
  9. No, they’re not. And that’s part of the problem. If they had any sense of decency or shame, they would have kicked Sorsby off the team the second the revelations became known.
  10. The “everything runs through Lubbock” jibber jabber won’t work. Tech knows full well he will need a professional publicist to walk him through any future encounters with media. He is under a microscope and he probably won’t answer questions from media until the entire team gets on the same page (publicity wise) after the crap storm they started.
  11. Too blind to understand the harm they are doing to themselves.
  12. How dare he repeatedly appeal to integrity as the basis for his and his school’s actions. This is a stain on the integrity of college sports that will likely last a generation or longer. Instead of doubling down, the integrity move would be to acknowledge the universal disgust and outrage and kick Sorbsy off the team. Instead, like a coward, he distances himself from the lawsuit and claims Tech has no agency in the matter. Kick the damn kid off your team, or suffer the inevitable consequences of forfeiting your games or being left out of the CFP.
  13. A lot of that going on at Tech right now.
  14. Better to keep your mouth shut than looking like a fool talking.
  15. What?!?! It’s not new it’s over 100 years old and the precedent has been set over and over. So it’s actually very easy. He’s done, support the sinner hate the sin.
  16. Continued failure to recognize this is much more important than Sorsby’s future! Self-serving POS’s
  17. BULL F**KING SH*T 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
  18. This is creepy as hell and perfect for Joey and his daddy. I’m sure he’s been advised not to do any press because they don’t want him to say something wrong and possibly contradictory to their BS narrative.
