Lawrence Sampleton is the #1 #87 for me also. After retiring, he worked with my mother on a project for a school while I was in high school. Lawrence came over to our house and hung out around our kitchen counter. He was very kind and impressive. He laughed about playing for Dick Vermeil with the Eagles. The first few times Vermeil cried during a motivational speech to the team, Lawrence was really inspired. After a few of those speeches, the players would roll their eyes, thinking "here we go again."

With the additions of Cam, Raleek and Hollywood to Wingo, I can’t wait to see Arch play with so many weapons that can score from anywhere on the field. I’m hoping Bishop proves he can too. If we can get acceptable play from the OL and the safeties hold up, there’s no reason that we shouldn’t compete for a national championship. Hook’em!

Maybe not a direct broadcast issue, but for replays could we please go directly to a ref in a booth with multiple monitors rather than wait for a ref about my age to waddle 50 yards across the field to review the replay on a 10 inch screen?

Man, this is getting tough. Are we limited to just one Mount Rushmore? Earl and Vince (and probably Nobis) are definites for me, but then I think about Layne, Street, Ricky, etc. and my head starts to hurt, but in a good way.

I’m sorry, but for me, it always starts with Earl at the top of the list. I certainly don’t mean any disrespect to the other Longhorn greats, but Earl just represents everything I love about the Longhorns. And I fully acknowledge that I may not be objective on this topic, but it’s my undying position on it. And I’m ready for Arch to rocket up the list to just behind Earl.
