Notice they listed him as a CB - knew Kirby said he was going to get a shot, but I don’t know if I love his fit at corner.

yeah more flameouts than you'd expect...but not a bad list: probably K'Lavon Chaisson (LSU) who was a first round draft pick a few years ago. Cory Redding/Chykie Brown were good but it's been quite a while...

Literally fighting the feeling of our recruiting is slowing down and we’re missing on key players but also realizing that this staff has earned some rope and we have depth at key areas. would’ve loved to have Calicut. But onto the next. Recruit through the whistle and don’t give up on the guys you want in the program.

I hope he gets drafted. I had seen he was doing okay this summer and thought he might be turning a corner to become more reliable and getting more pitching time next year. Good luck to him.

From UT: Former Texas Tech LHP Brenlee Gonzales has transferred to Texas to join head coach Mike White and the Longhorns. Gonzales is immediately eligible with three years of eligibility remaining. The southpaw appeared in 12 games with one start as a true freshman in 2025. A native of Aledo, Texas, she posted a 2.84 ERA in 12.1 innings of work with 12 strikeouts to go along with a 2-0 record. She held opponents to just a .245 batting average and surrendered only four extra-base hits – all doubles. She notched her first collegiate win vs. Penn State (Feb. 7) at the NFCA Leadoff Classic, shutting the door in the final 1.1 frames with two punchouts. She also possesses a perfect fielding percentage (1.000) with two assists. During her senior year at Aledo, she compiled a 0.81 ERA with 173 strikeouts. At the plate, she smacked eight doubles, four home runs and 21 RBI. She was twice named to the TGCA Class 5A All-State Team and All-DFW Team and was a two-time District 5-5A MVP. She played travel ball for the Texas Bombers Gold under Longhorn legend Cat Osterman and Scott Smith, putting in 30.1 innings of work in 17 appearances while holding a 0.46 ERA with 49 batters fanned. Gonzales is Texas’ third signee by way of the transfer portal this offseason, joining Arizona transfer Kaiah Altmeyer and Oklahoma State transfer Taylor Anderson.
