  1. Past hour
  2. I heard this new Pres and shoot lightening bolts from his arse. That’s good enough for me.
  3. Losing Ransom could potentially be a much bigger deal than we realize, but hopefully Jaylen McClain or Malik Hartford step up in a big way, but until they do it has do be considered a downgrade. As for CB2, Jermaine Matthews Jr is probably already better than Denzel Burke was, and has a higher ceiling. If those two would have been in the same class, I don't think Burke ever would have started over Matthews Jr. I look at it as a Quinn Ewers vs. Arch situation. Arch was clearly the future with a higher ceiling, but he was never going to surpass Ewers on the depth chart (unless Ewers came back this season of course), and the same goes for Denzel Burke.
  4. I feel like these are all rational takes. I think Ohio State's OT's are going to be very good, even better than last season but Texas' DE's are advantage Texas against anybody. In my personal opinion, I think Ohio State is going to have more success running against Texas than they did in the Cotton Bowl. Ohio State returns their entire IOL, plus Texas is replacing their top 4 DT's (from my understanding at least). I know that Texas brought in a bunch of bodies in the portal, so we will see.
  5. I get ya. I guess it doesn't matter because regardless Texas runs the perfect scheme to counter what Ohio State wants to do in the passing game, so I'm not expecting anything to come easier than it did in the Cotton Bowl, unless Max Klare truly is that great of a receiving threat (compared to Gee Scott Jr), to where he opens everything up.
  6. Here’s a great article on Texas pitching coach Max Wiener from Baseball America. I highly recommend you read it… https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/how-texas-pitching-coach-max-weiner-is-reshaping-longhorn-arms-by-defying-tradition/

  8. I can’t tell you for sure one way or another. But the reports that are coming out, who we have back as coach, and the tendencies of this group- I wouldn’t be surprised to see a very opportunistic backfield.
  9. We started our major marketing push for this season on Sunday night. And it is working! Thanks to all!
  10. Kwame still may have the best hands of any Texas receiver ever. Just crazy good in that way. And thank you to Raul Allegre for joining the show this morning!
  11. It starts at the top. Getting other leaders in lock step with the overall vision is where it all starts.
  12. Smith is not a polished wideout. He really doesn't run routes. He runs drags and gos. He's not a reciever you want to play trail technique or really try to jump with him. You don't play Smith you play the ball and limit his yard after catch. Otherwise you're just gonna get head tapped on ran away from. Play disciplined in your technique and coverage and you're good.
  13. Ohio State is more likely to run 3-4 and run blitz backers based on down /distance/formation. They will not be dropping 8 at any time, the DB's at most in a known passing situation they will go nickel coverage with a 3 man front and bring a LB off the edge to rush.
  14. Today
  15. I really enjoy watching The Film Guy's stuff. Brooks really knows football and is fair when assessing players and breaking down film. OTF, The Film Guy, and That SEC Podcast are my daily go-to for college football content.
  16. It's hard to know until they get going. That said, I doubt Eltife would allow someone not aligned with the BoR's vision for the school/athletics. Texas is rolling right now and nobody wants it to stop.
  17. Yes, because the best way to beat the three-safety defense is to run the ball hard, fast and downhill. That's one thing this offensive line can do, even with Goosby out. That's assuming Baxter isn't on a pitch count.
  18. I did not state that, but I believe strength vs strength OSU WR are better than Texas DB's Throw in Max Klare flexed at TE you have 4 excellent options to distribute to, not to mention any check downs to the RB. Texas DE are better than OSU Tackles. As I said they need to have their head on a swivel and Sayin has to process and release quickly, either they are forcing him to scramble and throw on the run or OSU may purposedly roll him out opposite of Simmons side. I do not seeing him with much time in the pocket. I have nothing but respect for the Longhorns Defense. I do not think OSU will be able to run on them, but they will have to stay with it as to not be to one dimensional. I look for OSU to use some play action to set up a couple deep shots so they can not abandon the run unless it is 4th qtr. and they are down two scores.
  19. McAdoo's and Myron's are strong recommendations. Can never go wrong with Herbert's.
  20. I don't know that I've ever seen a Texas wide receiver handle a screen pass like Kwame Cavil.
  21. i have a man crush on Eltife
  22. I agree 100%, That's why I expect a solid dose of QB run early to try and stay ahead of the chains. 3rd and long is gonna be a helluva challenge having to go silent count for a newbie QB in that environment. I can't see Sark trying to push the ball downfield much on 3rd down. Much easier for task for Sayin not having to deal with the crowd noise. Sayin is not the same run threat as Arch but the kid has a quick release, a good pocket presence and is mobile enough to extend plays. Wouldn't be surprised to see short yardage/goal line packages for our backup QB Kienholz, not unlike Arch was used last year. We did lose alot of experence on the back end but we've got a 3 year starter on the field corner and our #3 corner last year taking the boundary. At safety we did lose Ransom who had played alot of football, but we still have Caleb Downs, who many believe is the the best defensive player in college football our coach on the field. Replacing Ransom its gonna be one of two less experienced but very talented kids prob with more upside than Ransom. New DC in Matt Patricia, tons of experience with 16 years in the NFL earning 3 rings. We'll be more multiple than last season with a ton of plug and play kids that will allow him to get as creative as he wants with coverage and disguise. Gonna be a big challenge for Sark, Arch and the offensive staff as they're gonna have to prepare for something different and go back to NFL games for tape.
  23. He dropped one on CJ Baxter yesterday as well.
  24. Pat's is still around. Good if you want fried stuff and diner food. Agree with previous suggestions, I'll add a few: Pizza: Callahans is awesome for pizza and pizza rolls. It's a bar downtown, not sure how old your daughter is. Bootlegger's is also good and downtown, too. Seafood: McAdoo's. Also downtown. Pretty good eats. It has a knockoff out on the Loop called The Reel, which is also very good but not as good an atmosphere. Steak: Myron's, also downtown. It's a little drive, but Kindling in Cibolo is excellent, too. American food: Huisache Grill, also downtown. There's another place called Texas Bistro that is really good, too. Burgers: Agree on Tin Top. Some people really like Muck N Fuss, and the atmosphere is awesome there. I prefer the Tin Top burgers, though Mexican: Plenty of choices here but for an out-of-towner I'd recommend La Cosecha. Good atmosphere and some of the menu items are excellent (wagyu fajitas, some of the specials)
  25. Bringing up RB3, I can tell this man knows his stuff! I can see Bo Jackson possibly overtaking CJ Donaldson Jr as RB2, however James Peoples should be a very good lead back. I think most Ohio State fans would be surprised if James Peoples isn’t RB1 the rest of his time at Ohio State. He’s been compared to JK Dobbins a lot.
