Sark knew Texas would need to make adjustments against Ohio State. He said he and the staff made adjustments in the first half — they just weren't good enough.

There's an expectation for how Texas wants to play on offense, Sark said. In the running game, he's mentioned straining to finish to maximize runs.

Sark said he's hard on the players, but not so hard that they start tuning him out.

Sark was frustrated at halftime because he felt Texas had a good plan. He met directly with Arch at halftime to calm him down.

Sark says he was pretty frustrated coming out of the first half because he felt like there was a good game plan in place.

Texas had 7 explosive plays on 64 offensive snaps, for about 11% efficiency. Texas wants to be at 20% in all games.

Sark said the offense's goal is to have an explosive play rate of 20 percent or more. Seven explosives on 67 snaps (a 10.4-percent explosive play rate) didn't get it done.

The courage Jack Endries showed catching ball down the field, knowing he'd get popped, is one of the things that stood out to Sark regarding the transfer tight end's debut.

Sarkisian says Texas attacks the ball as well as anyone in the country, but it needs to translates to the field. Second and third defenders to the pile need to be more aggressive going at the football.

Sark said the defense needs to practice more of the second tackler getting to the ball and trying to strip it. Ohio State's game plan when throwing the ball wasn't conducive to playing a lot of balls in the air, so Texas needed to force fumbles to create turnovers.

We saw this exact same thing with Quinn on a lot of passes. @Gerry Hamilton what’s your read on the QB mechanics that seem to be in Arch now that Quinn also developed? Should we be questioning Milwee? I saw a regresssion in Ewers over the years and I saw a regression in Arch from his performance mechanics wise last year to this game.

On balancing out being aggressive on defense and not leaving the cornerbacks vulnerable in coverage, Sark said they were mindful of Jeremiah Smith all day. He said they got lucky on the fourth-and-1 when Ohio State failed to convert (Max Klare dropped a pass) and Kobe Black was one-on-one with Smith.

Sarkisian says the first 4th down attempt by Ohio State, Jeremiah Smith got behind the Longhorns DB but other than that, the secondary did a great job of keeping Smith bottled up in front of them.
