Many things starting to line up for magical run by the Horns. 1. Underperformance in first 3 games followed by ‘confidence builder’ in game 4 has momentum shifting and team growing stronger through adversity. No overconfidence, focus on the details should be high. 2) Longhorn health in very good place going into conference play. Everyone back over next few weeks. 3) Upcoming opponents health and momentum moving in wrong direction at right time, especially at most important position. 4) Longhorns and Arch no longer a favorite by the media. Pressure is off, expectations lowered (no more talk of being national championship favorites or Heisman favorite) 5) Feels like the Horns can get all their star power on the field at the right time, let loose, have fun, go win big. Hook em!! 🧡🤘🏼🐂

Arch's career so far at Texas
Dread-headed Texan replied to Dread-headed Texan's topic in On Texas Football Forum
I like the O-line for next year. I think if Trevor goes pro, we move Baker to LT, and Brooks starts RT, I'm a big Cruz fan, of course either Neto needs to play with more consistency or Stroh with better balance, LG is my biggest question. As far as running back I like Clark and Simon. Not really sure what to expect from Gibson. Because sometimes he does, but more often he doesn't. The trio of Parker. Wingo, and Moseley should be great. The TE room is so versatile they can thumb wrestle to see who gets what play and Texas will still be good there. -
Arch's career so far at Texas
AusMOJO replied to Dread-headed Texan's topic in On Texas Football Forum
I'm thinking about what this offense could be capable of next year. Only spot you really need to replace guys is on the OL. QB, WR and TE should all be extremely set. RB could be a ? if you can find a difference maker. OL there is some talent there with Cruz, Kibble and Brooks going to be fighting for snaps and Cojoe when he comes back. If he really has turned a corner (Arch) then I think this team is going to be very hard to stop. We'll see though. - Today

Was the expectations of Arch coming into the season a bit too lofty? Ummm, yea! Was his start to the season a little slow? You bet it was. With that said let's look at what he's done so far and why I'm not concerned, or haven't been concerned, and excited going forward. So far Arch in his first five starts excluding SHS, is 4-1 with 15 passing TDs, 1550 yards, 5 ints, and 7 rushing touchdowns. Not bad for a guy who if his name was Arch Jackson would be a 3 star. I don't believe Arch will be a three year starter at Texas, but with what he's done so far, and with usually the biggest jump is from year one starter to year two starter, I'm extremely bullish. Think of the jump Quinn made. With the defense Texas has right now, Arch being a distributor is enough to get the job done. Sure he had some things to clean up, more defenses to decipher, and become more accurate in terms of ball placement. However, it hasn't been all bad. We've seen some big time throws, we've seen him stare down the barrel of a blitz take a hit and deliver a dime, we've seen the down feild accuracy, escaping ability, and yes arm talent. When not if Arch starts to dictate how defenses defend him and make them pay for over aggression, Texas will be in a great place. Let's just hope we get there later this year and we don't have to wait until next year. 🤣 and yes, I'm up at 0500 rewatching SHS, specifically Arch because sleep said not today, that ain't what we wanna do🤘🏿

Gundy is a multi millionaire with no need to do assistant things in another state unless he just really can’t stand not doing football things. He can take a few years off and try again if he really wants to be a HC into his 60’s. As for his firing…deserves has got nothing to do with it. OSU is acting like a big program even if they are not. They’re trying to get a jump on potential hires while keeping their base and donors engaged. Those $$$ mean much more than class these days I’m afraid. Especially at a cash strapped program.
-
Gundy got what he deserved. He's brought nothing but problems to OSU since Boss Pickens died. ... and his football team is no longer competitive, even to the most casual eyes.
-
Hope this is satire. Respectfully, I want to play them at their best. Our best vs. your best, let’s see who wins.

We’re staying in Louisville.

It's kinda like Clemson with Swinney. Gerry keeps mentioning that they were not very good since the 80's before he came around and likfted them back up. You gotta be careful what you wish for and Oklahoma State will not have the same success as they have enjoyed under Gundy. Don't know that Gundy would care much for Austin or Texas but you couldn't go wrong having a voice like that around to help out.

I remember a couple of one legged OU QBs beating Texas back during Stoops' reign of terror, but a thumb?

If Caitlin Clark ain't playing, I ain't watching. -
Did OSU's competitive days die with Boone Pickens? Or did they fire Gundy because of his stance on NIL?
-
I mean even when they beat us with Gabriel, they had a lot of luck go their way. We also have several chances to win that game and couldn't get it done. Even if it was with Mateer, he wouldn't be able to hero ball his way out of a Texas ass whooping.

This Minnesota/Phoenix game is unhinged 🤣 I'm glued to the TV -
Well, that's no bueno. Because the rest of their offense is hot garbage lol.

Not hardly,

I remember the Sorry Bastards thing. It was true unfiltered hate and those of us that lived it have never forgotten it.

Honestly, don’t mess with staying in Lexington. It’s easier and cheaper to stay in the east end in Louisville or in Cincinnati. It is a bit of a drive but it’ll be cheaper and have more to do than you would in Lex. I lived in Louisville and love it up there just not in the cards to get back up there this year.
