Good for Quinn !

Not a huge surprise here, but it was discussion I had with someone last night. Latest roster projections have Quinn Ewers making the 53-man roster with the Dolphins.

I know, 2025 hasn’t even started yet but we all know this is BV’s last season. With Carson Beck graduating what are the odds Mateer plays for Miami in 2026? Bring that up to your OU buddies and you are sure to get a favorable response.

A lot of ohio state fans in the comments on that video seem to think klare is a “first round tight end” so he will help jeremiah but a lot of times reality is different then what you think.

I wouldn't and I know Sark isn't going to put the pressure on Arch to win the game. He's going to lean on his unlimited screen game, the running game, all to set up the deep shot. With the stable of running backs Texas has I'd be surprised if Arch throws more than 25 times.

Yes Day is going to give the green light for Sayin to let it rip. Day learned his lesson trying to coach not to lose, as evidence after the Michigan loss. The running game will not be abandoned but our strength is Sayin and the receivers. On a cool note I hear BEVO is making the trip to the shoe. I am pulling for my Buckeyes to win but wont be surprised if they do not. If this was BEVO vs. BRUTUS. I know BEVO wins that one all day...

Ohio St. names Sayin as starter

For the most part it's just banter going back and forth. A little cordial trash talk is what sports are all about. -
Tackling Smith is way easier for one of the better secondaries than it is to run with him is my point. If you think Day is going to put the ball in a first time starter in a game of this magnitude is crazy work. Day isn't crazy, Ohio State's run game will have way more say on if Ohio State wins or not. Colin may be the best end on the team, so it's not just him you have to worry about. There's Moore, Burke, Spence, and Vaseck. You're not going to be able to block Simmons 1 on 1. So you'll have to put a tight end or chip with a back, which takes a player out of the pass route. Or if you go 21 personnel you either have to take a reciever or back off the field. I don't know what the gameplan or the outcome will be, but regardless of what's coming I'm sure Texas will be ready.

Sorry you are upset that I and NFL execs disagree with your assessment of Jeremiah Smith. The drop depends on the route. Also I am sure they will roll Sayin out and hit some drag routes, I can also see them putting Smith in the slot and in motion. They will also use him as a decoy and sling it out to Klare on some dig routes. Sayin won't need to throw the ball 70 yards at anytime on 8/30. He just needs to get the ball to his playmakers and let them make plays. Smith's speed and YAC are going to be a problem.

I can only speak for myself. I will be back regardless to tell ya'll good game and I hope to visit Austin (for the second time) next September. -
Back in early February, I suggested it would have been fun to have a contest, guessing what the total OTF subscriber count would be on YouTube at the time of kickoff against Ohio State nearly 7 months later. OTF had just passed the 70k subscribers mark at that time. My guess was 135k subscribers by kickoff on August 30th (nearly doubling your total and declaring total Longhorn World Domination, lol). I may have been off by a bit but I'm guessing OTF hits the 135k very soon. Far and away the best video broadcasting coverage for Horns Nation!! Would have been fun to have a competition, especially if 4 Texas A&M tickets had been part of the prize for the winner, lol. Anything for free tickets!!! Excited for the season to get started. Grateful for OTF and the incredible team Bobby has assembled, the dream team including Gerry, CJ, Jeff, Blake, Rod and others. Keep up the great work!! Hook em!! 🧡🤘🏼🐂

He hasn't coached in college in 20 years but he has been coaching. A leopard don't change his spots, the same tendencies he had in the NFL will show up in 9 days. -

I was talking that from my standpoint Sark didn't have tape on Martindale before going into Ann Arbor, he watched a lot of Ravens tape and had his team prepared. I'm just saying having a new DC isn't the adavantage it seems to be. The continuity Texas has enjoyed is more of an advantage. They get to do what they've been doing since day 1 of Sark. If Patricia comes in with all these exotic coverages and schemes he's more likely to confuse the defense not Arch. -
I believe Sark will use the screen game as an extension of the run game like he has in the past. What has me exited about this is the early intel on WR's willingness to block down the field. Once the cb and safety start to cheat up, then Arch will throw it over the top. Arch's patience early in games will be key for Texas this year.

Not at all. I think Sark is one of the great offensive minds in the game, right up there with Ryan Day. Both our coaches are on the short list of best play callers in college football. I couldn't have any more respect for Sark. That said, it's alot easier for him to prepare for something he's seen a body of recent work on tape. He's not going to have that in this case, Patricia hasn't coached a college game in over 20 years so he's gonna be guessing what he's gonna see. Obviously he's gonna go back to what structures and schemes Patricia ran in the NFL but there's necessarily more uncertainty as a result because the NFL is a different game and he's going to have to be ready for a greater variety of looks. Tougher to do in the first game with a young QB under center on the road.
