I think it’s worse. The early guys were more impactful for Texas. The only true Late impact players have been SIlas Bolden, AD Mitchell, and Hero Kanu. I’ll give Jalen Catalon an Honorable Mention, but he got hurt and can’t recall any value on the field after the Alabama game. Then transferred out end of year. That’s not to say the premise of this thread can’t be true, that Sark will acquire more talent late, but the impact players have been early in the cycle.

Every school has fans waiting to pounce every time they miss out on a recruit, lose a game or even go 3 and out on their first offensive series. I have the “pleasure” of working with a bunch of Oh St people at a firm we have an investment in (outside of college football allegiances, they’re really great folks). Right now they’re livid even after coming off a natty last year and a pretty nice season this year. They think Day will have the shortest of leashes next year and many can’t wait to get rid of him. It takes all kinds.

And I don’t think it’s all doom and gloom btw. I’m actually not a big go get stuff you already have in the portal guy. I think our secondary looks great for next year. Our D ends, same, don’t like losing Umiozulu, but that’s what we do now , so hey. 🤷 I think we are good at running back, QB, receiver, maybe (if a freshman pans out) but thin. Interior d line good now . I can even talk myself into a pretty good o line (I know not popular) goosby, turntine or Roberson , Robertson, nic brooks , and brandon baker. Tight end I also think we are good . Linebackers we should have kept Lefau, and we dang better not lose Barnes. We just had a lot of depth and we are losing it, and apparently we don’t have the recruiting chops to replace it . 17 game season is what we want, right? We better get some lineman and linebackers . I hope your right in the late gets. And I hope they aren’t 4th 5th choices

That’s like a 50% bust rate on the “late” guys. All the best players from your list were considered “early.” I’m not in the doom and gloom camp, I think everything will be fine. But I don’t think this list does does anything to make an argument. You put 🔥 next to Blackshire. Didn’t he transfer out like a week after he committed?
