  1. Past hour
  2. Or we could’ve taken care of business when we were supposed to against a 4 win florida team 🤷🏾‍♂️
  3. Yeah as long as it’s a 12 team bracket (really 9-10 with g5/bad conference champs) these games hurt more than help for SEC teams which is a bummer. Though moving to a 16 team bracket will give enough room for good teams to still get in. There seems to be a huge drop off around 14-15 every year rather than at 12 you’ll recall last year bama/USC/ole miss all were good teams left out that would’ve been in with a 16 team bracket.
  4. Nope, I say fix the playoffs, it starts by respecting our tough schedule and rewarding quality wins AND losses.
  5. That would be weak and timid which isn’t the Texas way.
  6. I know that many will disagree. That’s why this site exists - to dialogue. Texas needs to focus clearly on one thing - The Playoffs. Period. It’s not about being scared. One less loss is all that matters. It’s fun and exciting to open the season with a NAME. We all get that. But, the ROI simply is not there. When our name does not show up in the bracket next Sunday, it will sting bad. This is avoidable with a strategic aim at what is more important. The SEC is a gauntlet enough. CDC - drop the game. It’s the smarter thing to do. I’ll trade that shiny game for the playoffs. This seems simple. Drop it! Hook ‘Em
  7. UGA is a complete team. They don’t, however, always ‘show up’ with their A game. But in big games that matter they will show up.
  8. Amen to that, especially that last sentence! 🤘
  9. More people care about beating OU and Aggys than anything you have to say. So to your opinion - who cares
  10. The season was not a waste. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Sure, I could have enjoyed it more. But if you didn’t like watching Texas develop as a team, then I think that’s on you.
  11. Agree. Disappointment ≠ waste. Yes the losses sucked but there were some great moments. And more importantly I got to share those with my family and you freaks on this site. Viewing that as a waste sounds like a miserable way to live.
  12. While I wholeheartedly disagree with the OP’s assertion that this season was “a waste” it was disappointing at several levels. However, I am proud at how the team battled back from adversity and ended the regular season on a high note. The future is bright and I am looking forward to whatever bowl we wind up playing.
  13. Did it make sense to anyone why atm deferred to the second half seeing as Texas was so short at LB and they were going to get Tyanthony back in the 2nd half? The Longhorns played their most complete game of the season and the 2ndary finally quit playing so far off.
  14. Very well said. It’s 100% how I feel too! The “no playoff = failed season” mentality I just can’t get with. I see this season as being frustrating & disappointing at times mixed in with some big wins. Certainly not a “Failure”. Love this team & was so happy for them last night. Horns up always! 🤘🤘
  15. Never a waste when you beat all 3 rivals. And aside from that it’s still not a waste. Quite a few young players have gained experience and developed their skills. This will indeed impact our team next year.
  16. I agree with you, just sucks. Like I said on another post I want this to burn in our hearts and minds. I mean that as a collective because we are all one team. Fans, coaches, players, etc. Just want the necessary changes to be made for next year so that we don't feel this again. I will never be done with this team. Like you said it's a chapter in the long history of this team. Some chapters are better than others so let's hope next year's chapter is better than this year's. Love this team and especially everyone in the OTF family.
  17. Well said. Great to hear from fans who take a bigger perspective. Yeah it’s great to win championships, but it’s supporting your team through thick & thin and enjoying the competition of each game that brings the enjoyment.
  18. I saw one of his games and I can’t see him at Edge. DL all the way.
  19. I agree with you completely. You are not the only one that shed tears that night.
  20. I wouldn't say UGA is a complete team, did you see them against GT? Lol. Not the first time they've stunk it up this year. Ohio State is head and shoulders above everyone else.
  21. I think that was because we all thought the team would be better than it was. Something was definitely happening behind the scenes or in the off-season for things to be that far off, imo.
  22. I’ve been disappointed more than a few times this year, and I would personally freaking love it if we won it all. I remember shedding actual tears of joy when Vince strolled past the pylons on 4th and 5. But I didn’t become a fan JUST to see us win championships. I love this University. I like talking with my pops about Texas and updating him on the stuff I read on OTF. I like getting invested in the kids that wear burnt orange and watching them mature and respond. I love this team because I bleed burnt orange, not because they have the resources to win it all every year. I’m sorry, but to me, this chapter of the book that is UT’s story, that I can’t seem to put down, hasn’t been a waste. To me, it’s been just as important as last year’s chapter, and just as important as 2005’s chapter. Yeah, the way this Saturday played out, CFP hope has flickered out, but man, I’m proud of this team’s growth. I’m proud of our fight. And I’m proud to be a Longhorn. 🤘🏽
