This is a complete guess on my part, but Larson never looked at Nolan Cain at third base. So, I'll assume he made the read and thought he could make it.
That's not the first time Larson has had issues running the bases.
If he went on his own, he's got to know that it's better to keep yourself in scoring position with Tinney coming up.
It felt like that could've been a big two-out rally. Instead, the Longhorns score one run on two hits and leave a runner on base in the bottom of the seventh.
